That looks like one of those things that would be really interesting the first couple of times, but would then get kind of boring unless you had LOTS of abandoned railway that went through interesting countryside near where you lived.

The way to keep it interesting is to explore un-abandoned railroad.

Hell, buy a dirtbike and go off road and ride it. Vastly more entertaining, few limits to where you can go.

It's a lot harder (and more dangerous) to carry a cooler full of beer on a dirt bike!

Well, if beer drinking is your goal, a better place to do that is in the shade, beside a swimming pool full of wimmens in little clothing.

My advice, though, would be to pitch the beer and go straight to ice cold margaritas. Or mohitos. Share with the wimmens.

But if you involve wimmens, the "final price" of the fun can become staggering, and end any fun for the rest of your life.

A cooler of beer is easy acquire, and cheap. Dang, I can tell I have been married a long time.

I’m pretty sure that second video is on the defunct E&N railway on southern Vancouver Island. That exactly the place that came to mind where I would like to try this. I remember riding the passenger service in the late 80s from Qualicum Beach to Victoria. I also remember riding our dirt bikes on that track about the same time.
