What a boring race for about 48 laps. OK, maybe 47, because the first lap is always exciting. But what a finish! I don't recall ever seeing something like that, other than with Lightning McQueen.
|
official team statement by copy-point about hulk's car
a bolt broke off and jammed the clutch so the motor would NOT turn to start |
Well that's embarrassing.
|
I watched every lap of a three hour Imsa race and time flew by. I watched about ten laps total of F1 and forwarded through the rest

All the years Mercedes ran that same car it never happened. Hulkemberg luck all the way. |

F1: first 3 laps, last 3 laps. Laundry and vacuuming in the middle. |

I skipped it. Until there is real suspense, no reason to watch. And then there is LH. I don't care to watch him.
|
I suggest Lewis moves to Portland and leaves his seat to Kimi.
|
I don’t understand the LH disrespect from some of the off topic crowd here. Whatever you think of his personality or off track life, there should be no doubt of his talent and competitive spirit. He’s gonna beat all of Schumacher’s records this season. GOAT. IMO.

His car has finished in the points in the last 65+ races except for one DNF. Yea, some of that is him, but mostly he has a car that can be turned up to 11 or 12 compared to the other cars. His luck seems to be astonishing. And he likely will beat all the records held by just everyone. |
+1... It's not Lewis, it's the predictability. We lived through 7 years of utter Schumi domination, 4 of Vettel domination (that was no as bad because Weber was entertaining as a number 2) and now 6+ years of Hamilton or mercedes ? The problem is I can already make a guess as to who wins next week ;-) (watch - now something funky will happen). Even when Mercedes gets it wrong, it's always on Bottas... Lewis has all the luck Hulkenberg never will. Would be a fascinating season without Mercedes. The only question mark for me is WTH happened to the pink cars leading most FP sessions, and a real bummer for the hulk. Also for Russell who strikes me as a the real deal and in stuck in a Williams.
To make this season more of a yawn, the banning of Ferrari's clever fuel flow "cheats" from last year means HAAS, Alfa and Ferrari are *nowhere* this year, so it's a race between Lewis, Valterri and Max...Every w/e. The rest can eat the crumbs. Yawn. |

Geez Pirelli, time to re-look at your tire tech. Poor showing

Someone a long time ago screwed up and told him that what he has to say is important for all to hear. If he'd just shut the heck up and drive and leave the preaching about global warming and vegitarianism and politics out of it, I'd be his biggest fan. We'll maybe not his BIGGEST fan, I'm sure others are more fond of his prissy hair-primping and facial hair fashion faux-pas more than I am. But he can drive. |
He can drive the BEST car very well.

I think this is some of the best racing we've seen in years as long as you ignore the first 2 cars.
The thing that TV misses is how close the racing is. You can see the time between cars constantly changing as drivers make mistakes and loose ground while other drivers capitalize on other's mistakes. Glad to see less TV time for Mercedes and more for the guys in close races. |

Love or hate LH, how many F1 drivers have become pop culture icons? Not many that I can think of. He brings attention to the sport. Kind of the Jeff Gordon of F1. |
I see a smiley face :) If you must have the glue rails, might as well have some fun.

No smileys here. Boring. Looks like Kvyat hit the concrete barrier. Safe cars.

Worldwide, this is not true. |
Why criticize someone in the global spotlight like Lewis Hamilton for standing up against racism, global warming the benefits of vegetarianism, being against animal cruelty etc.
That's the same attitude as the "shut up and dribble" people who criticized NBA players for speaking out. I like Kimi, but he is not a great speaker or much of a role model. If you want to choose one F1 driver for a young racer to emulate, Lewis is the one. He doesn't come from a rich family and had to overcome a lot of challenges to get where he is. He isn't number one solely based on his car. Remember when he was teammates with Alonso at Mclaren and out performed him? Alonso had to cheat to try to get an advantage. |
^ He can start to offer learned opinions when he actually reads IG posts before re-posting them, No? Otherwise he should just stick to rapping and offering fashion advice. As for standing up against "racism"....well not so much. Otherwise all lives would matter.

So it came out in the press that force india DID in fact completey copy the Mercedes brake ducts.... They actually purchased them from Mercedes in 2019, when it was supposedly legal to do so per Otmar Szafnauer (I have no clue about F1 law and dates, his opinion). Their argument shifted to: "yes we reverse engineered them but it was legal to do so then, Renault is applying 2020 rules to 2019". Interesting...
Considering everything else they buy to go with the engine and gearbox/ rear end, it really is a pink mercedes... |

Yeah, for once in his F1 career Hulk has a podium-level car...and then the mechanics can't even get it to start. Hope he gets another chance this weekend.

So a team that will be named Austin Martin will be running a car that is essentially a Mercedes. WTF?
