Just starting to watch this new show.

I watched a couple of episodes. I am interested, but the missus isn't so I only watch an episode here and there. I think it could be pretty good.

Finished the season last night.

We thought it was excellent.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the guy who plays Homelander in anything else but I suspect we will see more of him in the future.

His character gets deeper as the series goes and the actor does a great job.

Superheroes are evil and must be punished.

Why are they evil?

Because they behave like Hollywood celebrities.

Did Millar con Hollywood into making a show about beating up Hollywood types?

What happens when superheroes are aholes? I loved it and thought it a was nice break from everything is awesome.

Re: Homelander.

The reviews I have read online tell me the show varies greatly from the comic. The show makes Homelander out to be cold and calculating. The comic makes him out to be a blithering idiot that cannot do anything right.

Another show that was somewhat similar (dark, super hero-y) that I enjoyed.

This one was a little more "odd" than The Boys

Umbrella Academy.

I finished bingeing today. I can't wait for season 2.

Watched season 2 of The Tick. Sad to find out it was not picked up for season 3.

I stopped at Episode 2. Maybe a bit too dark for me...

I was happy to see a new season of the Expanse is now on going to be on Amazon. I guess they picked up the production of it. That will be nice to see with no commercials. It starts next month sometime.

Whhaaaattt!!! That's a blow, hadn't heard that. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed that. Even tried watching the previous treatments of The Tick right after - but they were worse than we remembered I couldn't figure out why they nixed Santa Clarita Diet either, I thought it was funny/well-written..

Powered right through The Boys, it was great. As was Umbrella Academy.

The dolphin scene.... I died laughing...
The aquaman gills scene, awkward as hell... Great show, would never make it on cable...

Dolphin - OMG! Just getting worse. Oh no, worse. OMG WORSE!

And the gill thing, reverse #metoo

Akron Ohio...

The comic is MUCH worse with the sexual stuff.

I loved the show! To me it seem like a much more honest super hero story. Can't wait for another season!

This thread was not what I expected.

To me, The Boys - Amazon Prime means Clarkson, Hammond, and May...

We have been watching a lot of Prime and Acorn lately. Currently working thru Line of Duty on Acorn. These services have to be cutting into mainstream networks a bit but I doubt that it matters to them as people still lap up the commercial laden drivel they pass off as entertainment.
