Panic in the WD household

“I

Been using the Gaggia for a week or so. It makes good coffee but it’s not as robust as the Saeco was. Dregs bin and water reservoir are so small you can only make about six cups before emptying and filling. It makes noise to wake the dead. I’ve ordered some sound control pads for it. Well see how it works.

cheap French Press for the next few days. All you need is hot water and ground coffee.

Do they have establishments in your area that sell coffee by the cup?

Luckily my daily morning coffee maker is simply a cup of water in the microwave.... 1 teaspoon of cheap instant and it goes down the hatch right before I walk out the door. If the microwave breaks, I can just eat the teaspoon of dry coffee and chase it with a swig of water. (BTDT)

Going out to get it would mean getting dressed before coffee. I don't know if she can do that.

Such a pressing difficult first world problem.

Just boil some water, pour the coffee in, wrapped in a old sock. That is way better than Starbucks.

She doesn't have to - you do - and bring it back - for her. In bed.

First solid plan. I like. ( as evidenced by my "like" )

And an excellent backup plan.
Slapcratches coffee is like it's pulled through sweaty socks...from a high school...that you voluntarily pay $7 for while being insulted and spoken down to.

Gawd, I love this place.

*but where'd the 'like' button go?*

Publix was out of Gevalia French Roast. I made the mistake of buying a bag of Starbucks. How the hell can they stay in business?

I have a backup coffe maker for jsut this occasion.

Of course, I use $20 Mr Coffee makers, which break spontaneously ever 13 months, so having a spare is not only frugal, but necessary!

FWIW This bad boy is in my shop. I rent my space from two storage wars type guys and they just got it in. Belongs to the kids of one of the landlords. They had a coffee shop. I could get it for $500 but I doubt I would utilize it's potential.
