Nooo Dawg. Have shifted to a higher caliber of alcoholic beverage.
Busch Light and/or White Claw. You need to see my recent thread on the IPA experience. I'm moving up.

Governor says that they expect to see peak numbers here in about 40 days. It would probably be possible for people to live almost normal lives by simply being sensible and following simple guidelines, but I expect that we will see a total lockdown in about 2 weeks, simply because you can't really expect people to follow guidelines. I'm just going to keep working until I am shut down, then I will turn my attention to other things. |

Well, Amazon's not stepping up to the plate enough, tried ordering some grocery items and found there's no delivery window. None. Better ramp up the hiring, all those laid off waiters for example. |

Noticed i'm mostly bored lately.
it's quiet at work can't visit anywhere can't go to hardware store to buy home renovation crap can't go out to eat signed up to volunteer at the local hospital I start saturday.. Nothing glorious, they need somebody to man a desk for people that bring clean or pickup dirty laundry for relatives in the hospital. Anything is better then being bored.

Today was my first day taking classes through zoom. To say it is chaotic, is an understatement.
Trying to replace required patient care for my nursing license without the ability to go in a hospital has really put students and instructors on edge. It'll will all work out but there will be pain in the process.

I've become the designated shopper for 3 households now. I wear nitrile gloves so I don't have to touch the same credit card reader pad that a thousand other diseased people have been fingering all day.
A week ago there was panic buying of all sorts of stuff - TP, milk, etc. I was out three days ago and shelves were stocked better. Today - looks like another wave of panic. I was reminded again that noon is a bad time to go to the grocery. People who are working who normally eat at a fast food place are standing in line with a deli sandwich or some quickie lunch chemical pack from the convenience shelf. (Instant microwave Cup-O-Mac&Cheese was actually on one of the shopping lists - who the f*&k can't make mac and cheese? - Oh yeah, my neighbor) Liquor store is still reasonably well stocked, but a few empty shelves are causing anxiety. Gotta suit up and go back out into the population in a couple of days. Wish me well.

Born to Lose, Live to Win

Since I last posted, stones tour cancelled, lost my job Friday, wife is working from home trying to hold on in a dying real estate market. I’m now full of worry, especially about maintaining health insurance as I am currently getting screened for lung cancer. I won’t leave the house cause doctor told me I’m a goner if I get this blah blah blah
On a good note, my wife is an amazing cook so I have fresh homemade bread and other tasty things to eat. I have my dogs. I have no shortage of toys and projects to keep me occupied so the idea of being bored is really not something I’ve ever worried about. I simply can’t get bored. This insanity is like watching the walking dead, the black list and red dawn all wrapped into one |

Thanks man. You know what’s interesting is that even though I now have no job (was making a good living) I feel much happier knowing that I’m not being exposed to the virus at the office considering my underlying health issues that put me at risk
Last week at work was hell. My boss tried hard to figure out a way to keep it running amidst all the regulations and restrictions but it took all week. None of us had any work to do -law firm and courts closed etc- so I felt like I was just sitting amongst 175 other people for no good reason just waiting to get sick. Now, I feel relieved in a way. Yes there are big worries ahead but this feels very different than 2008. Lost my job then too but I felt absolutely hopeless and lost then and full of anger. The nature of what’s going on now is not remotely similar in how it feels or looks.

I mostly "matchmake" buyers and sellers of Porsches, but had a big Aston Martin sale fall through over the weekend (buyer was a contractor & lost 1/2 his projects over fears).
As usual, there are a few people wanting to buy Porsches, but the specific form factor they want is not on the market. Sellers aren't coming to grips with market reality, so nothing is aligning at the moment. Keeping amused by selling off the random accumulated Porsche goodie. Most grocery stores have lines outside, but I have a favorite with no lines and reasonable levels of everything I need (limit 2 to a customer). Plenty of traffic on the road. Drove toward Malibu yesterday, mid day and it was bumper to bumper like a Summer weekend. I guess that's still social distancing, though. I see 30-40% of people out there NOT keeping a 6' distance, but we have only 3 cases in my part of town (so far).

Meanwhile you march along in a very uncertain world. My recommendation (and this may be implemented already) is to require anyone entering the produce section to put on gloves and take them off before leaving that section. Furthermore, I would take along some wipes to handle everything rather than touch it with your hands directly, gloved or not. Use the self checkout if available and place things directly into your own clean bag. Not a problem here as we are not allowed disposable bags, another brilliant law by the fooking CA government (that is going to bite them in the ass bigger than you know). The only possible contamination at that point is if someone else touches your bags, and, of course, you should consider everything your bags touch to be diseased including what they sat on while being filled (you could use your wipes to clean that too). Watch, I'll be the first fck to get sick. I bought a steamer week before last to sterilize anything brought in from outside. |

I went to the cemetery today and the place was completely dead.
On the way there I passed through one of those cutie sort of towns that people flock to, to spend money. no one around. |

Drove through downtown Seattle at 4:00 rush hour after dropping food off for sick kids. Rather than stop and go creep, drove 90% of it at 60 on I-5 and 70 on I-90, cutting 45mins off. Unreal.

If you go bareback you touch the keys, then touch your car door handle, the steering wheel, controls, etc and take it home with you. So if I'm wearing gloves I don't touch the doors or keypads. When I get out of the store I strip the gloves off and toss them in the trash. I don't bring the virus home - at least not on my hands.
