People have thrown reason out the window. This is a good lesson in CA if we really have a big event like a big quake. A minor inconvenience has made people act like animals, imagine what a real disaster will do? Last I checked the power, water, and internet still worked and stores had supplies until the morons bought he stuff out. funny how the fresh produce, baked goods, frozen goods, and eggs we're still readily available.

COVID-19 shot my day all to hell today.
Our neighbor's husband is in Australia and can't get home because Quantas is packed, and we have been watching over his wife, B, since he left 2 weeks ago. B has serious COPD and MrsWD decided she shouldn't be out shopping in her condition because of the virus. MrsWD doesn't want to be out shopping either, due to her condition of "I have a husband to do that shtt," so yesterday I was volunteered to do today's shopping.
Early this morning we got a call - B's dog Sammy died in the night. It weighed 45 pounds and B called wanting me to help her put Sammy in a garbage bag and get her into her car so she could take her to be cremated. MrsWD was apoplectic. "You are NOT going to take your girl on her last ride in a garbage bag! We need to do something nice for her and you should not be doing this anyway. We'll be right over." Notice she said, "We."
So we got a blanket and I wrapped the doggie up in the blanket and put her in our truck and the three of us drove to the vet and dropped Sammy off. I drove everyone home and got them settled and then went to do the shopping. There were lots of bare shelves in the food stores and not much produce at all. I hit all 3 food stores within a 15 mile radius and none of them had potatoes, but I snagged one of the last five 1/2 gallons of milk at one store, so SCORE! I hit 3 other stores getting the various things they needed. I found out the dog had torn up a kitchen cabinet getting to whatever it was she ate that killer her, so I said WTH I'll fix that and get it over with.
I had planned to vote today, but I heard on the radio on the way to the vet's that voting in Ohio was postponed until some later date.
So, it's 3:30 now and I haven't done a single thing I had on my agenda for the day. So I started happy hour early and came here to whine.

We made a drive past the grocery store with zero intention of trying to shop. The lot had more people in it than I see right before Thanksgiving. We went past on the way to a one man operation clock repair guy that works out of his garage workshop. Two of Mrs. Carrera's many antique clocks were having issues.

The governor of PA today announced that the state liquor stores would be closing at & pm tonight, and that's the only place to by hard liquor in state. Since we're only 15 min. from PA, I did a pre-emptive strike on the local liquor store and scored 3 1.75 liters of Ketel, before the hoards from PA showed up.

A friend just wrote a letter for me stating that I am an essential consultant for a company deemed vital to national security.
If the dumb continues to escalate we'll soon be under police state lock-down and won't be able to pass without the proper PAPERS.

Please convey to MrsWD my appreciation and respect for her stepping in to do the right thing.

I don't care what crazy events are happening in our world around us - the minute we lose respect and proper dignity for our loved ones it's pretty much over....

Amazon stops receiving non-essential products from sellers amid coronavirus outbreak

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) is suspending sellers from sending non-essential products to its U.S. and U.K. warehouses until April 5 in the latest move to free up inventory space for much-needed supplies that are in shortage as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

In a note sent to sellers on Tuesday, Amazon said it is seeing increasing online shopping demand from consumers. As its household staples and medical supplies are running out of stock, it will prioritize certain categories in order to “quickly receive, restock, and ship these products to customers.”

Amazon defined five categories as essential products that can continue shipping, including Baby Product, Health & Household, Beauty & Personal Care, Grocery, Industrial & Scientific, Pet Supplies.

The wife is watching the grandkids since school is closed. 8-10 hours with hyper active 4 & 6 year olds is tough. Not sure we are going to make it.

The stupid is multiplying faster than any virus every could.
Orange county.
3.2 million population
29 cases.
2 hospitalized.
No deaths.
Hey, lets panic and over-react!
Good idea.

Good thing I've got my papers.

So far, PornHub is unaffected by the global panic (so sez pNutz! ); if that site goes down (not like THAT! ), then civilization is undoubtedly doomed!

It's a test of martial law.
McFatburger kills 700,000 people each year.
Not to mention texting while driving.
Or opioids.
Stealing under a thousand bucks is also now okay. As is giving AIDS away for free. No tax write-off even.

(You passed btw. Good boy.)

Local University is somewhat shut down. Public library is shut down. Freeways are mostly empty.

Noticed traffic was pretty light today.

Took three stores to find potatoes. Red only. No russet.

Preparing for lockdown. On keto diet but if I'm stuck in my crib for two weeks, I be eating some starch.

I see a lot more stoopidity - locally, in the news and on the internet.
