Flu does not knock anyone (or as meant in this context, everybody who gets it), on their ass.
loads if not most people annually barely notice getting it.
The get it and can spread it but generally do not notice much symptoms.

I have never been sick from flu other then maybe half a day sore throat and an ache in my neck. If it weren't for people around me getting knocked down 3-5 days.. in my house.. I wouldn't even know there's flu going round.. And I never get the flu shots, ever.

Like Covid, Flu mostly hits people with immune problems, elderly, transplant patients and a subset of the population that is sensitive to it.

I am one of those guys with immune system problems (long story) and I have had real live influenza a number of times, as opposed to common colds, bronchitis etc.

I have very little concern about this one, from everything I read, I am almost for certain going to get it, it will be similar to my other ones and I will be miserable for 3 to 5 days and then just feel unpleasant for a while after that.

I am self-quarantined more because I am still working online and have no reason to go out, but note with loathing the government removing civil liberties apace using Covid as the excuse.

Negative historical parallels abound and are not good.
