People are disgusting
Someone dumped 4 mattresses next to the dumpster by our business. And they are horribly stained! People are gross!

Someone did that at one of our rentals last summer. I got there at 7 am to find a big shart stained mattress leaned up against our front porch.
I took the biggest fit right there in the middle of the street. Threw that disgusting thing out in the middle of the road, and made traffic go around it for about 30 minutes till I cooled off and loaded it into my truck. I burnt it that night .. If I knew who it was, I would dump my garbage in their yard for as long as they lived there. I am 100% sure it was one of the neighbors who saw us working, and hauling out debris every day . You could tell, it was dragged there .

At least it's next to a dumpster... people here just leave them on the side of semi-deserted roads. Don't they know that the city has free haul-away up to 4x a year? They just need to call and schedule. Can they not be bothered?

Back when I parked my pick up next to my building,I came in one morning to find my truck full of garbage. Someone had moved and loaded their unwanted crap into my truck. I was livid. I had to dump the crap up the street just so I could use my truck for work that day.

At my old work place we had a dumpster out front. Some low life worthless POS left a mattress leaning up against the dumpster. It was not a locked dumpster, so they could have opened it and thrown it in themselves. We went to do that, and saw it crawling with bedbugs and lots of brown stains. The manager there used to spray yards for a living, and still had some of the old time chemicals. He brought back some mean insecticide, and hosed it down. The next day we tossed it into the dumpster while wearing tall rubber gloves. We thought about hosing it with diesel and igniting it but we were just a few hundred feet from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and they could see out the window what we were doing.

We get stuff like that regularly here. One time our dumpster was loaded to the top with busted up cement, with two dumpsters full of yard waste piled next to it. Building maint. guy had to remove the busted up cement by hand. They have short little dumpsters for that sort of stuff.
Surveillance cameras and lights were up within a few days. Homeless campers leave trash everywhere but in the dumpster.

The City of Oklahoma City has a FREE (well, no extra cost) large trash day once per month or maybe it is just 6 times per year. Anyway, we can put out old water heattes, appliances, or just about anything except tires. They haul it away no problem. O f course the junkers came through the day before and load up trailers of stuff they want to have. It is amazing what people throw out.

I've been saying this for years.......when someone can't even take the time to roll their shopping cart to it's proper place after they're done with it.....this pretty much tells us who we are as a society.

Got 1 better. I worked IT at an attorneys firm @20 years ago. There were @ 120 employees at our building, 90% of which were women mostly under 35. Not the Bellagio, but a nice place. I over hear 1 lead attorney saying that someone took a giant crap in the middle of the women's bathroom floor..........it was true.

But then I tried to call one time for a toilet my neighbor left on the curb in front of his own house. Took forever and a few phone calls to navigate through stupid city phone menus.

27 years ago when I was in college, a friend of mine got a job as a property manager at an apartment complex. At the time, I was remodeling my grandma's bathroom and replaced her toilet.
I got some of my grandfathers old overalls and boots from the basement and a bunch of old newspapers. In the middle of the night, I dropped off the toilet in front of the apartment complex with 'legs' sticking up out of it... When he told us about it the next day, we all pretended we didn't believe him. Who would do something like that?

On the subject of 'who we are as a society', all one needs to do is watch the panic buying going on now. I thought I might go into the grocery store this morning and people were running past me towards the door. I took one look inside and the line was wrapped around one aisle. I said to my wife I'll eat my cereal with water before I have to contend with the madness. Some eggs and some milk was all I was after. The produce section was nearly bare with only the dregs. How's that thing with trying to store lettuce for a month working out? However, I went OT there. I have an alley behind my house. I don't need to tell you about trash. Not that far from me people are reporting human waste in the alley and I'm not talking piss. |
