Well, it has been years since I rode the Tad-Pole, so I pulled it down from the rafters in the shop,
Replaced the tires and tubes and took it out for a spin. Still need to replace grips, clean and adjust the derailleurs.

My 83 R100 project might actually get done because of this virus. Lots of time to focus on it and parts supply chain doesn't have anything to do with bleach, Lysol, or toilet paper........so I should be good with parts for a while.

I used an air brush (Harbor Frieght for about $30). Few areas I did with artist paint brushes (center console and touch up). Took about 2 coat for most areas with exception to drivers bolster which took more due to the crack filler.
I called Leatherique and the nice lady suggested kit #3. I have about half of a bottle of dye left over. It is a lot of work, but with coronacation going on, I had a lot of time.

Wow - looks great. How do you know which color(s) to order? ... do they have auto manufacturer's stock color codes on hand, or do you have to provide a sample?

Noticed a tear in the back seat of my ‘12 F350, of course none of the kids fessed up, so I ordered a replacement cover. Was not hard taking it all apart, surprisingly there were no hog rings. It’s not perfect but easy enough I wasn’t going to pay a pro.

Thanks!
They have Porsche color codes on their website. I used Champagne 2 (color code 925). If you are still unsure, you can send them a sample. They are also very helpful if you contact them and it comes with detailed instructions.

Changed/washed all the filters in the wife's Q5 today. Engine (kinda fiddly), cabin and the permanent screen behind the grill.

Since the recovery from back surgery is going well and has renewed the spirit level of my mechanical ego, I need to start cleaning up my garage, as there's tools and boxes full of new car parts that have built up over the past year. It's supposed to rain next week, so I'll attempt to start consolidating and organizing a bit while stuck inside.

I'd like to make my way to the back to work on my old Harley. The front rotor got warped the last time I rode her in 2018, (long story), and I ordered a new rotor & brake pads and a front brake lever (which was the root cause). Hopefully we won't be on lock-down when summer rolls around, and I can take her out again (?)

Put together a bench using some 2x4s and plywood. It certainly isn't the prettiest, but it will do. More work still remains in there, but it's a start.

I'm taking this awful time in history, to work on my device connectivity. I managed to get my phone to act as a remote for the camera! You have to be a total camera geek to get excited about that. And syncing the laptops with the desktop.

I spy a dual-band (U/V) HT sitting there too.

Being a HAM radio nerd, I wanted to install a VHF/UHF two-way radio in the Cayman. I received the hatchback antenna mount in the mail this morning, so I rounded up the needed length coax cable and connectors, and installed the antenna this afternoon.

We paid for professionals to replace the stockade fence in the back yard today. My neighbors are not young enough or healthy enough to help, and I would have to rent a trailer and impose an a buddy to help. So it was better to pay a construction company and give three guys a job for a day. Nice guys.

Watching the fence guys work inspired me to tackle a problem we have ignored for years. The stove top vent hood. One bulb was burned out, and I had ignored it because I had to remove three screws in awkward positions to get to the bulbs. So first comes off the the two grease filters, then the center cover that has the three screws in place.

Like most things taking it apart is way easier than reassembly. The fan motor was full of debris from three roofing jobs since the house was new. We had quit using it because it made horrible noises. All that crap is out, and I even blew it out with compressed air. It works great now.

As I was taking the motor out I saw this tag. It is in the trash now.

Getting things back together was a major pain. The folks that put in the new backsplash when we had granite countertops installed ran the backsplash up 1/4 inch higher than it was needed or should be. It makes getting the panel back in place a real challenge as it is in the way. It takes some force to push and pull way harder than should ever be necessary.

It is all back together. Lots cleaner, and with two working LED bulbs. Another 5 minute project that took an hour.

I replaced the timing chain cover bolt seals on the 993 (a couple are a real b-och to get to) to track down a bit of an oil weep. The old ones were petrified, hard as little round rocks. Next up: the valve cover gaskets. Trying to stay busy.

RB-400 hatchback mount
90° SO-239 antenna fitting
Nagoya NL77B low profile VHF/UHF antenna
RG-8X coaxial cable (overkill for a 10' run, RG-58/U would have worked fine)
Kenwood TM-V71A dual band radio with detachable faceplate

... need to run the power cable to battery next
