We are coming out of lockdown on Friday, May 15. Shopping centers are set to open.

Monday, May 11, I had to take mom to the ER. She fell and faceplanted and was blocking the door. I had to scoot her out of the way to get into the bathroom. Get to ER and they take her away. Get updates via phone and finally called after she was read to go. Broke her nose and fractured a cervical vertebrae. Her face is all bruised, but she's a trooper. It was a very different experience under Covid19.

UPDATE

I took mom out of rehab on Friday because they had an outbreak at the facility. First, one employee, then one resident. Then a whole slew of residents, with a total of 12 residents and employees in the outbreak. Throughout my mom's stay at the facility, I could not physically see her unless I took her to the doctor.

I spoke with the staff on Thursday and Friday and they said she was doing well. She looked great! They told me she could walk 50 ft, then needed to rest. Fine. I take her home and get her to walk from the car to the patio and she's tired. Ok, it might have been the trip home and she's tired. I take her to her bedroom, and walk her to the bathroom later on. She's slouching and looks like she's going down. Get her to her bed just in time! Throughout this weekend, she slept a lot, and her legs are weak. Weaker than when she went into rehab. I ask her what they did all day. She tells me she stays in bed all day with not much exercise.

That explains a lot, and the walking 50 ft is a big bunch of BS! They took care of her like a nursing home patient, not a rehab patient.

Are you and yours able to tend to her for a while?

haven’t worked since march. most people i worked with were terminated. hopefully i go back july 31. haven’t got sick. but was extremely ill with most unusual respiratory infection i’ve ever had first week of january. i’ve had everything respiratory related for decades due to 30 plus years of smoking damage. never experienced anything like this. didn’t go to doc at the time. probably too soon in this area to be covid but i don’t know. i did think at the time that i was gonna die from not being able to breath so who knows. wife never got ill though. mom stopped over then to visit our dying dog and didn’t get it either. mystery

Yes, my sister and I are looking after mom. I started her on some leg strengthening exercises today. If I didn't bring her home, she would have never been able to leave the place.

My wife’s best friend just tested positive and she was at the house yesterday, but she was 6’ plus from my wife. When they went out earlier, they both wore masks.

We’ll see what happens...

Not a worry in the world... I'll take my 0.05% chance. Wife works in a hospital, tested negative twice.
