Concrete expansion joint ? what backyard mateiral can I use ?
In my down time, I am pouring a small pad,and walkway in my backyard . I have 5 feet that is going to be right up against the house . Block foundation wall .
I am trying to not go to the store. I have an extra bed liner mat, one of those thick rubber ones. Will a piece of that do ? Cork ? Any other materials that I could use ? I have lots of stuff laying around . I am trying to be safe, crafty, and frugal on this one . The pad is only 4x5.

I would use the thick rubber mat material. It won't absorb water and will give when it freezes.

The rubber mat would be what I'd use.
