I'm shocked! No, not really. It has to take an immense amount of money to get something like that up and going. Fan loyalty is such a huge part of any sport and the "Entertain me!" factor is huge. I watched a few games and just felt like it was ho hum. Not as entertaining as a good upper tier college game IMO.

I cared, for someone who was giving up on football, it was a welcome relief when the XFL came along. the games were downright FUN to watch, and I found that we, as well as many people around up, started actually watching 3 hours of professional football, intently, for the first time in many many years. It had the chance to pull fans from the NFL, it was that good.

We actually planned on going to the Final here in town, until some idiot sneezed on some other idiot and the whole world got some sort of brain sickness...

This could be seen coming. XFL is prone to failure regardless of the venue.

I root for every new pro football league that comes along, and there have been many.
Unfortunately only one has made it and that was the fourth try for the AFL.
Technically it did not survive on it's own, it was swallowed up by the NFL in a merger of unequals.
And no one really took it very seriously, until Broadway Joe kept his promise

They've reached the saturation point there really is no more room for conventional pro football.
They need to market something different, something better.
I suggest something classier, with no stupid dancing around or acting like low-lifes. That would be a good start.
And stop interviewing the players on the sidelines, most of the ones that were interviewed on the XFL sidelines couldn't pronounce their own name.
