I always questioned who did he fight? Bone Crusher Smith, Bruce Sheldon, Peter McNeely. I think a young Larry Holmes would have toyed with him. Buster and Holyfield exposed him. Holyfield especially. He had zero fear going into the ring. He knew Tyson didn't stand a chance. Even Tyson (which I give him a ton of respect for) said Holyfield was the best of the era. I was a teenager when his reign started. Is was certainly an event. The black towel, shorts and shoes. His speed and focus. The ferociousness. The fear in the opponents eyes. He's was a wrecking machine. I remember the night he lost to Douglas. I came in late and someone mentioned it. That fight was suppose to be such a non event, I don't remember making an effort to watch this fight happening in Japan. Anyone know what time that fight was on local time. Seems odd that I heard about it at night. As far as fighting today, unless he goes down to Light Heavy, he would be a dead man walking once he breaks the top 10 or slightly higher. He could take a punch but today's heavies seemed to be a lot bigger. He had a pretty rough life and has made some mistakes along the way. I hope he has truly turned his life around. Lastly, he was a tough SOB. He took a beating from Holyfield and just kept coming back. No quit in him. Say what you want, he had a chin.

Look up some of the real fights that some martial arts "master" takes on a real boxer. They are pretty short. Only movies have someone so fast they can dodge a punch from a boxer repeatedly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNxaNAm_fWQ

When I read the thread title I assumed he was returning as a commentator. Wouldn't that be a joy to listen to?

Steven Seagal married the daughter of a Japanese master to get his accreditation and took his war stories from a ex-SF advisor. When confronted with stealing the guy's thunder, they had a private resolution, which quickly did not end well for the tall actor. As the proverbs say "don't judge the size of the dog in the fight". A flat punch to the chest by Tyson would be death to most people.

Tyson's career also declined very quickly after Cus died, it was very unfortunate as he was a father figure and really had an incredible influence on him as a young impressionable man. Had he lived, Tyson's life and future would have been a completely different outcome. Don King is scum.

I was and am in the east coast (Boston) time. He did beat bigger guys but who? If he got down to light heavy, probably the greatest of all time (though Roy Jones Jr. was special). I think a guy like Larry Holmes would just keep picking away with the jab eventually frustrating Tyson. He would eventually tire and then good night. If Tyson got in, grab and hold or meet your demise. All the other greats, I have a tough time thinking he would do well. Lennon Lewis, Holyfield, Holmes, Ali, Foreman. Tyson Fury would engulf him with his size and skill. Fear wouldn't be a factor either. He would probably beat Frazier and Marciano because of the style and his power. Don't know much about Marciano except he always came forward and was small. Amazing he did what he did. If he needs the money, throw a few chumps his way and then give him a title fight. The name will sell tickets. How about he fights Connor McGregor? Will need a small ring side coffin with a bottle of Irish Whiskey for that one.

Tyson's style was not a good match up for big, skilled boxers. Buster Douglas beat him as he was a very skilled boxer and Evander just manhandled him and was a better boxer that could also take abuse.

Some very wise words from Holyfield in that interview. Rogan is a great interviewer.
