Also the lift decision makes sense. The amount of time it would outshine your midrise would be minimal, and as you said, it depends on what your future projects look like anyway.
The oak does look jarring but you could probably respray it white in an hour and they would disappear. Beats busting out another $5-8k for Gladiator stuff.
Let’s see some shots from outside!
Thanks. Your thinking was the same as mine. My goal is to have as much free floor space in the work area as possible--so tool boxes only go on one of the long walls, for example.

I'm thinking about painting the oak cabinets red to match some of the other shelving and the toolboxes.

Here are some shots from outside. By volume, the garage is the same size as the house.

The house has a basement "garage" that's pretty tiny. Now full of my wife's stuff.

Never heard of a basement garage. Under the house you mean? Can drive a car inside, right?

The cars fit.

That looks great! and much bigger than I thought it would be based on the early layout pics. Congratulations, must be such a good feeling to have it done.

Thanks, Shaun. More of a relief!

There were a few adventures along the way involving a vanishing contractor and angry subs showing up at my door with guns threatening to sue. You know--normal construction project stuff. Gave me a chance to exercise my people skills.

Now that is a good looking shop! Apparently you are in the same boat as me in that there just isn't enough wall space! One thing I will recommend it that you add a couple of ceiling fans. Even in hot weather they will usually keep the area from getting too hot!

Yep, under the house. My mother in law's house had a basement garage that would hold 3 cars and a hot tub with some room left over for normal basement trash!

Nice project.

Sorry to hear about the general contractor problems.

No pain, no glory.

Will your wife ever see you?

My wife keeps coming into my shed. Been thinking about hanging a 'No Girls Allowed" sign.
