Idiot 968 Driver

Perhaps he is a member of this Forum and he can give us his perspective.

Nevertheless, pulling a hot tub with what looks to be a $10 Harbor Freight dolly is irresponsible, stupid and criminal. I wonder if his “rig” damaged the hatchback frame.

Probably an architect :D

GH85Carrera 06-19-2020 07:04 AM

It just goes to show that stupidity is universal.

I hope the ticket cost him more that renting a pickup or at least a trailer and doing it safely.

More discrimination against Porsche and high end car owners.

If it was a Honda or an old truck, it would have never made the news.

Michigan--- so close enough, AND those are some mighty-fine looking casters on that dolly.

You folks clearly have no appreciation for ingenuity. "Necessity is the mother of invention"

And those knots tying the rig to the car? Niiiiiiiice. My dad would be proud of that!

Tidybuoy 06-19-2020 08:06 AM

As a former 944 owner, I can say those cars can haul a lot of stuff. I really miss that little truck :)

cabmandone 06-19-2020 08:14 AM

The funny thing to me is that the person has a Porsche, bought a hot tub, but can't afford a proper trailer or ratchet straps to get the hot tub home? I wish the article stated how far he got from where he picked up the hot tub to where he got pulled over.

On a side note, I was down near Chillicothe on my way home from vacation on Rte35. I got behind a pickup with their 4 way flashers on. I jumped in the passing lane and as I passed I noticed the truck in front of him had a vehicle on a trailer attached to a truck... that was being towed by another truck. Solid!

That stunt would have bumped my YT channel.

Scott Douglas 06-19-2020 08:49 AM

I think he got the hot tub for free and was trying to keep his investment costs down to a minimum.

Even the guys around here hauling stuff down to Mexico do better than that.

madcorgi 06-19-2020 09:00 AM

He didn't want the water splashing out into his car.

LEAKYSEALS951 06-19-2020 09:17 AM

I've hauled a dishwasher in the back of my 944, and a bunch of 4x8 plywood and sheetrock / also transported cobblestones/ back in the 'day'

RWebb 06-19-2020 09:23 AM

he should be forced to sell his 968 and drive a 924

cabmandone 06-19-2020 09:23 AM

Cue Jeff Foxworthy "If you've hauled plywood in the back of your Porsche..." :D

Hey, it's a classic

"A driver in Woodstock, Canada, was pulled over this week when police spotted him towing a hot tub behind his classic 1990s Porsche 968 sports car with a handmade rig."
