Visited the granddaughter last weekend, she had her first on-stage performance. She was an orange. The theater is part of the Annie Wittenmyer home, originally built as a home for orphans of the civil war. These buildings came later. Each one had what looked like a metal slide from the second floor. Fire escape? That's the only thing I could think they would use them for, but it looks like a rough ride.

I'd say, yes, fire escape chute.

The air entering a peregrine falcon's nose during its high speed dives (320 km/h) would cause its lungs to explode, but bony tubercles in its nares safely regulate the passage of air. Engineers solved the air intake in jet engines in a similar way: http://bit.ly/3RG5pf7

Had them in my grade school. Did not want to be first down the chute since it was your job to kick the cover plate off. Plunging down the slick metal tube in complete darkness not really knowing when you feet would hit the thing.

Thinking this would illegal now. Did get kids out of the upper floor quickly.

Fire chutes have limitations when designed improperly.

Lynyrd Skynyrd members, like many rock musicians, have had tattoos that carry personal significance, often reflecting their Southern roots, musical influences, or band loyalty. Here's a look at some notable tattoos among the band members:

1. **Ronnie Van Zant**: The original lead singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ronnie was known for his "Free Bird" tattoo on his right arm, a tribute to the band's famous song. He also had a "LS" tattoo, representing Lynyrd Skynyrd, and an eagle tattoo, which symbolized freedom and the band's Southern heritage.

2. **Gary Rossington**: As the band's guitarist and one of its founding members, Gary had several tattoos, including a rose on his left arm, which was a tribute to his wife, Dale Krantz-Rossington. He also had a tattoo of the band's logo, showing his deep connection to Lynyrd Skynyrd.

3. **Johnny Van Zant**: Ronnie's younger brother, who became the lead singer after the 1977 plane crash, also had a number of tattoos. Johnny has a "Free Bird" tattoo similar to his brother's and other tattoos that reflect his Southern pride and personal beliefs, including crosses and American flags.

4. **Rickey Medlocke**: Rickey, who was a member of Lynyrd Skynyrd in the early 1970s before rejoining in the 1990s, has several tattoos as well. These include Native American imagery, reflecting his heritage, and other designs that symbolize his journey in the music world.

5. **Artimus Pyle**: The drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd, Artimus, has a few tattoos that are personal to him, including designs that honor his military service and his deep respect for Southern culture.

These tattoos often serve as reminders of the band's legacy, their Southern roots, and the personal experiences that have shaped their lives.

THE ENGINE WITH THE MOST MILEAGE IN THE WORLD
It belonged to a bus from the Mexican company “,#Omnibus de México, which never underwent a repair.
For 10 years it had the route from Mexico City to Ciudad Juárez and accumulated a total of 3 million 300 thousand kilometers... it is like going around the world 83 times.
In 2019 the engine was removed from the bus and it worked perfectly. It was transferred to the VOLVO museum in Sweden
