Bro-dozers

I'm not seeing as many of these things "rolling coal" like they had in the past. Anyone else? Is it being addressed?

I'm not sure of your question. Are you referring to the Hot Rodded Diesel pickups?

I heard they have been cracking down on it at a federal level. Like the diesel brothers tv show the epa or something went after them for bypassing emissions systems as their buisness. And cops pulling people over for it all the time. Its just a fad im sure its time will be short because its stupid and quite expensive im sure.

I’m building a ho-dozer of sorts for my wife It’s a 4x4 crewman Rock Warrior Tundra with 7” of lift on 37x12.50 R22 tires and 22x10.50 Monster wheels. Lots of other bumper, grill, light guards, nerf bars with drop steps, fender flares, etc...
She’s into this sitting up over everyone kick and I do what it takes to keep her happy because she goes out of her way to take great care of me
It’s a 5.7 not a diesel but it sounds awesome with a TRD Pro full dual setup in stainless. It will be tricked out when I’m done. Just receiving the last of the parts today.

Well, I admire your wanting to keep each other happy but this avenue toward that seems under considered. Ymmv, literally.

Here in Georgia we have an abundance of knuckle draggers and mouth breathers ☹️ that are attracted to diesel trucks . I have nothing against a diesel my dually is a diesel . But I don't see what the thrill is of having your truck mimic a locomotive . Or an exhaust tip the size of a trash can . I did hear one local shop was hit with a one million dollar fine for illegal tuning.

Nothing safer than 6,000 lbs with a high Cg.

And nothing's more practical than a tailgate five feet off the ground.

On the upside your Trucknutz will be in the face of every Prius driver.

I've noticed a little less coal-rolling. Even noticed a few trucks lift off the throttle when they pass which is nice.

On the other hand, I had a full on argument in the middle of a major street a couple weeks ago when an old man nearly side swiped me and then stopped in front of me to tell me to get on the side walk. After a quick argument and him stopping and starting a few times he drove off. I was surprised a cop or a dozen other cyclists didn't arrive to make things more interesting since it was such a busy street.

Every teenage boy here has at least one. Usually with the back lower than the front cause that helps so much.

I have 4 diesels on my mini farm (Truck, Excursion, backhoe, and utility loader tractor) None of them have ever blown black smoke because I keep them tuned properly. Excess fuel is required to "roll coal", and that doesn't seem smart to me.

There are plenty of bros that still feel the need to run straight pipes, excess fuel, and accelerate wildly every day I see them.

Plenty of them here in Colorado. I guess see less "rolling coal" trucks tuned to smoke like a locomotive, but I see just as many reverse rim, noisy tire, lifted 3/4 ton diesels driving around as always.

Exactly. Mine actually runs worse when I increase the defuel settings in my tuner. Despite no DPF or cat mine almost never emits black smoke, doesn’t stink, and runs amazing.

I saw a friggin VW Passat rollin coal for crying out loud!

FWIW, all they do is pop the tuner over to "smoke show" and when done playing flip it back to another tune. Doesn't make much sense to me but... "kids these days"

Probably DPF, EGR and DEF delete tunes. That's "frowned upon" and it appears to the tune of (Austin Powers voice) One million dollars. I saw a Bobcat T870 that was advertised as having had the DEF deleted. Must be some guys doing custom work for compact construction equipment too.

No one doubts diesels have a place in the world. They serve a legitimate purpose.

Some people seem to like the stink of diesels, and for sure want everyone to know that they have an old school diesel that idles with more clanging and banging noise than a rock concert. We stopped at the big box store to pick up one (1) bag of concrete. Sure enough, some guy pulled up at the "pro" doors, and climbed down from his pickup, and walked in to the store, with that noise maker just clanging and banging away. It was deafening, and stinky and so convenient to be at the front door, because he was very important, and fire lanes done apply to him. I had to suffer through that as I loaded the bag of concrete. His trucks sat there making noise as I went in, paid and went to my El Camino, drove to the loading zone and picked up the concrete.

Goofy as some of those trucks are i like them better than the soulless small/mid size SUV army that seems to be growing. Any kind of automotive passion is better than none at all.
