The control of information is hot.

The ear-loop cinches seem like a smart feature. The replaceable filters... looks like coffee filters. But, I agree with you, if you have to wear a mask why worry about effectiveness? I mean, as long as it doesn't appear to be ineffective. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1594967820.JPG This is all about appearances. And who knows how long this security theater will go on. Fauci did say a scarf or stylish bank robber bandana would work just as well but that was a month or two ago so perhaps he has changed his opinion again based on the "totality of evidence based on new data" or something like that, his words ! |
Heat & Humidity are also a factors.
Dry and hot means quicker evaporation. Being outside means the quicker and greater the dispersion. Inside a closed space with ac the greater the circulation of particles throughout the enclosed space. Cities with high population density have higher concentrations of particles. |
Only in America, do people buy guns and ammo to protect themselves during a pandemic but refuse to wear a face mask. The schit-for-brains is real.

Seriously, if someone is not around others what Possible good does a face mask do? Even when around others, say picking up a gallon of milk and using the self checkout... never opening ones mouth. How is a mask necessary? |
are you wearing a face mask right now. Walking around your Minnesota cabin muttering into yer mask; The schit-for-brains is real. ?

And I’m not in Minnesota. Other than that, you hit the bullseye as usual. |
Well said speeder, you guys stay safe down there, it's getting out of control. I look at it this way; if the least I can do to protect my family is wear a stupid mask, G'damn right I'll wear one...

Or, someone else has that same moment and around the corner you come to your self checkout, ripe with everyone's DNA and virus trails, walking through an invisible cloud of CORONA. You don't need your fooking mouth open to be in deep siht. Now if you just stop breathing.... |

Is your cup of espresso or latte really worth someone's life ? Think about that. |
Good advice from the good doctor.
Social distancing is the key. Skip the morning latte run. https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/490939-birx-cautions-masks-shouldnt-give-people-false-sense-of-security Birx cautions masks shouldn't give people 'false sense of security' The White House's coronavirus response coordinator on Thursday cautioned that a looming advisory encouraging Americans to use masks or face coverings to help prevent spread of the virus should not lull people into a "false sense of security." Deborah Birx said during a daily briefing that officials are still reviewing data about the benefits of having individuals wear masks when they go outside, but that any final guidance should only be treated as an "additive" piece to existing social distancing guidelines. "The most important thing is the social distancing and washing your hands," she said. "And we don’t want people to get an artificial sense of protection because they’re behind a mask. Because if they’re touching things — remember your eyes are not in the mask — so if you’re touching things and then touching your eyes you're exposing yourself in the same way." |

The inability to think beyond the masks, masks, masks mantra is akin to the same on ventilators, ventilators, ventilators or testing, testing, testing before that. |

Staying home is NOT an option every single day. Island's view of this is wrong. |

It could be that sneezing into your shirt would contain particles better (more volume to absorb the air pulse.) BTW, "ignorant"? ...wishing death on me? Well, aren't you just as pleasant as a frustrated hothead can be... |

People should be thinking about their social choices and if anyone believes they can go out more often to their favorite establishment or event because they are wearing a mask, that's exactly the kinda stuff the good Dr Birx was warning us about. Quote:

There is a lot of study around the risks that people take outpacing that of their safety gear. Men wearing body armor are not invincible, for example. They might, at first feel invincible, until someone reminds them that they might still be shot in the face. Oh, Kevlar Mask! Don't tell anyone. but I'll sell millions (MUHAHAhahah) on the South side of Chicago for people who need to go to the grocery store. |

Yesterday, I posted the video of the hot girl with the colorful dust on her. Island was kind enough to take a screen shot of a "concern" of regular mask, including surgical mask- ill fitting margins which let in unfiltered air from the sides/bottom. The mask I use has a lower adjustable strap, so it's good, but many others dont have it. At work today, I wondered "how hard would it be to fix?" I'd seen patient's solutions. Took a cheapo surgical mask, removed the aluminium nose strap, cut an access into another mask on the lower edge, and fed in a lower strap. Took 45 seconds. Here's the aluminum strip taken out of el cheapo mask- http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1595026188.JPG Here's a slit in another mask on the lower edge to accept the aluminum strip- http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1595026253.JPG Here is an el cheapo mask which fits better than numerous kn95's I've used- I think- it fits as well as n95 for normal tidal volume breathing and talking. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1595026312.JPG 45 seconds. |
