jokes aside. i feel awful for the woman.

vash 07-28-2020 07:56 AM

something similar happened to my wife when we were dating.

i cannot joke about this stuff. and believe me, i have jokes. but no more.

asphaltgambler 07-28-2020 07:59 AM

I would have gone there in person, calmly and had a private “chat” if that was my wife. As a man that guy needs to put that to bed.

Similar thing happened with my own brother ( older) who after an early dinner with my dad and few others, grabbed my wife’s behind at the ice cream stand unbeknownst to me until @2 months later.

When the time was right, had one-on-one with him. Oddly enough 2 previous gf’s had told me same thing. I didn’t speak to him for years.

Agree. I think a few simple words, not even threatening, just honest, would straighten the guy out but it's hard to do.

That said, I have a creepy older customer who crosses the line frequently. She calls me in for a home repair and says the guy who started the job (just some handles or hinges) does not return her calls. I said let me call him. I call and he says he lives too far away to make it worth his while. Ten minutes later he calls back and says the woman says creepy things to him that are sexually charged and it freaks him out.

Now do I tell her the truth? No. I just fixed her house listening to her rant about how she was going to sue the guy.

LWJ 07-28-2020 08:13 AM

He is a creep. Plain and simple.

He should be confronted. I suspect that he has done this all his life. That he has pushed things further with others.

If it were my wife? My daughter? I would be in his face at an absolute minimum at maximum volume.

The question is - what is an appropriate response?

My BF was raped repeatedly by her father. Small town Idaho - Jerome - if you happen to know him. He died. My friend had all sorts of bad feelings and guilt as one would imagine. A person in the town said that EVERYONE knew her dad was a rapist / creep. AND THEY DID NOTHING.

How many lives were destroyed due too other people's inaction?

I am pretty good at plumbing and small jobs around the house, and like to travel SmileWavy.

I had a really uncomfortable situation with a bad tenant sort of like that . She needed help removing the ac unit from her bedroom. Once I went in there, she kind of blocked the doorway and made it difficult to remove myself .
She did not make a pass at me, but I felt like she was goading me to do something stupid, standing there in a provocative manner . We evicted her for other reasons, and I'm betting she was looking for ammo .
I have hustled that ac unit down the stairs like it was my job.

You win. Nicely done.

Agreed.

If he has a business, Yelp this. There is no place for this crap...if her husband won't do the right thing, she should.

I would stay out of it, Fred. These things get confusing fast and being in the middle isn't where you want to be.

masraum 07-28-2020 08:52 AM

Wow, that's farkin' crazy in this day and age. I assume the guy's been doing the hug thing, and nothing has come from it, so he's slowly pushing the envelope.

flipper35 07-28-2020 09:03 AM

My daughter would have given the guy a brief demonstration of Muay Thai and left with the guy making strange noises.

My wife is such an ass. We are a non emissions county , so I do not do emissions inspections here. We sub them out to another local shop .
My wife shuttles the cars back and forth . She said, " maybe we should try that shop "

Ha, that is funny.

cabmandone 07-28-2020 09:14 AM

As the husband, I'd bring the Jeep in and ask the mechanic if he's gonna grab my ass too. If not I'd want to know why.

You can never be certain. The ass grabbin could be cover.

stealthn 07-28-2020 10:47 AM

A real woman would have b!tch slapped him and not made the husband fight the battle.

pavulon 07-28-2020 10:48 AM

The last touchy/feeling guy I had to work with was into child porn and wound up in a Fed. prison for about 12ish years after boasting about it on line. Really.
