Mine still freaks a bit with the hose outside.
(I'm not washing all that mud down the drain.)
But he really, really likes the lukewarm tub shower wand on his chest.
So I start low and slow on his chest for a few minutes, then move around a little at a time and return.
After a minute he doesn't mind at all.

They like being washed more than being put in the dryer.

Golder loves water, tolerates bath. LOVES being towelled off. Stops at door and presents feet when coming in from it being wet out.

I think Jack likes being clean, but he's not crazy about the process. My last dog would go hide when I got his towel out of the closet...had to drag him out of the backyard shed a couple of times.

^ Hilarious

If my wife or I leave the shower door open while the water warms, our dog jumps in.

We put a swab of peanut butter on the shower wall to keep her still while being washed. She loves her shower time!

On our many hikes with our lab Glenda...whenever she begins to hear the sound of a brook - she runs ahead, plunks herself down in the water and quietly waits for us to catch up. She remains lying in the water, watching us pass, until we get about 20 or so yards up the trail from her position, at which point she springs out and comes running...waiting to shake off until she is precisely positioned next to one of us so she can give us a shower!

When other hikers pass in the opposite direction, they invariably reach out to pat Glenda, at which point I always say "she's very friendly, but also very wet!"

My parents raised English Bulldogs. Growing up we had lots of litters of puppies. It was weird how some litters had such different personalities than the next, even from the same pairings of the stud and the *itch. (Pelican filter does not allow female dog name)

Anyway, one litter all were water lovers. Most of them would just climb into the water bowl. We ended up naming one puppy Ester Williams, because she was always in the water bowl. That litter of puppies all LOVED bath time. Like all the puppies we were sad to see them go to new homes, but the buyers were heavily vetted and many did not meet my mom's specs and were not allowed to buy a puppy from her.
