Oh Wow...one bar patron!
|
What do you find ridiculous about it?
|
Over 100 accidents so far, five deaths (non-Covid).
Maybe those motorcycles need to be in quarantine. |

I didn't see anything in the link that mentioned cancelling anything. What did I miss?
|
They didn't cancel the event.
It was the warning after 1 in a half million were found positive. |

I bet one hell of a lot more STDs were transmitted. Probably many other common viruses as well.

Jeff should I wipe down and disinfect my passenger seat?
#side-by-side dust = safe sex? |
It's a nearly ideal situation for viral transmission. They need to warm up the presses for "I almost survived Sturgis" T-shirts.

Yawn, another one of these? Sturgis looked fun, see the Antifa d-bags that almost got their arses kicked and had to get rescued by the police? Oh the irony...
|
The liberal press doesn't care for the antics of the bike crowd that doesn't "toe the line" on current political thinking. The two groups deserve each other, but in the ensuing knife fight, I think I'd take the bikers.
As to the COVID spread from Sturgis, how you gonna tell after everyone returns from whence they came? I can see the gov't pathogen trackers now, trekking up to the bike gang crib in Oakland to do their survey and demand a quarantine. |
One patron that we know about. If you take “one” literally, you are kidding yourself considering how virulent the virus is. The impossible thing to know is how much it may, or may not have spread in testosterone fueled macho land, because they may be possibly taking it back to communities across the U.S.
If college kids can transmit it so easily at parties, beards and bandannas aren’t going to do much when hanging at the bars. Hope I am wrong, but I wouldn’t bet money on it. |
Anyone remember the panic surrounding Spring Break in Florida? Our first "Super Spreader" event. Someone even tracked cell phones departing to their respective homes, telling us we would soon be seeing all of their grandparents dying. A couple of months after the fact, with plenty of time to incubate, all we hear is radio silence. Oh, a few tried to disingenuously tie Spring Break to the subsequent outbreaks in New York City, even some of the "deeper thinkers" on this very forum. Until, that is, it was pointed out that the outbreaks in New York City were pretty much constrained to that city's poorer barrios. You know - the folks that can afford to send their kids to college, and can also afford to send their kids to Florida for Spring Break.
