It shouldn't be surprising that people are paying huge money for cars designed over 50 years ago. The DB5s, the Ferrari 250 SWB, there are others. They're gorgeous, rolling works of art. Simple designs built for driving enjoyment (or winning races).
With a few exceptions, most cars designed today are so unappealing. Overweight, lifeless blobs that must conform to Govt legislation and fuel economy. Crammed with technology, most of which we didn't ask for, some of it even detracting from an engaging drive.

I call it the Singer effect. Singer wasn't the first but their version of the 911 has gotten a lot of attention.
Meanwhile Jaguar has done the same with the D‑TYPE, XKSS and the Lightweight E‑TYPE. https://www.jaguar.com/about-jaguar/jaguar-classic/authentic-cars/classic-continuations.html

The detail and work done by hand is amazing. 3 years as an apprentice before you can work the sheet roller. And the guy doing the tour: So nice to see someone running things that can still get excited and appreciate the craftsmanship.

Chill out time... Almost 20 minutes of old men banging on aluminium. No commentary.

What do the Aston Martin DB 5 Continuation and the GMA T50 have in common?
The number of wheels. Bookends, in my mind. Best Les
