Humans already live the longest compared to most other species, and we are generally obnoxious to others... So no, we really shouldn't live forever...we really don't deserve that kind of ability

In 100 years we could have millions of people living in various parts of our solar system.

In 200 years... With our current technology it's about 100 years to travel time to Alpha Centauri (Distance from Earth: 4.367 light years).
A space ship 5 times the size of the biggest air craft carrier with more than 100,000 people on board.

What if we launched lots of these in various directions? (All built for the resources in the Kuiper Belt.)
How many virgin versions of Earth are out there waiting for us?

In 500 years or less we could have many billions of people living in other solar systems.

If we could cure ageing our perception of everything changes.
with the kids these days??!!

As long as I'm physically and mentally active enough to do the stuff I enjoy I quite like the idea of living for longer but not forever

When I die next time I'd like to go the way I went the 1st time

So there is your answer!

Pix from 1994, of course. I don't want to see pix of Miss Alabama at the age of 150.

1. If I live forever, how long will the new normal be for kids living at home after college?
2. Should I consider "copyrighting" all my posts?
3. How do potential erectile dysfunction issues factor into this?
4. Same question for prostate issues. At 50,000,000,000,000 years old, how long will it take me to pee?

How bad would the "get off my lawn" bad attitude thing get after a million or so years?

What about reading glasses? After a billion years? What magnification factor?

Will 150 year old people suffer from uberosteoporosis and only be 2 feet tall?

MrsWD and I talk about living forever (or at least over again) in our 20's. We figure we would have 4 kids, one every other year - and then when i tied her up we'd just do it for fun.

No, and the people that would sacrifice anything or anyone to prolong their lives are not the sort that should live forever.

Not going to happen. Your kidneys won't make it past a buck and a quarter

Anybody here ever read Robert Heinlein's Time Enough For Love?

I think that had a pretty good take on eternal life. Although, it did portray a somewhat unreliable narrator.

Apparently she never said that, but I thought she might have, having seen her in real interviews.

To question 1... Yes, we are solving them. Well at least the US is trying.
To question 2... I couldn't say one way or the other but I'd like to think so.
But by polluting I meant with human greed and need to conquer. Imagine finding a planet with a species say like Native Americans. Human kind would do just as we did on earth.
To answer the original question. How on earth, (pun intended), could you afford to live say to 125. You'd have to work until you were 100!! No thanks
