Re AB.

Lot of speculation that he is suffering from CTE due to that 2016 hit he took to the head.

He really had no history of bizarre behaviour prior to the 2017 season when it all started to go south for him.

Chargers/Raiders game went into OT congratulations to the Raiders . On a night highlighting John Madden I am glad the Raiders pulled off the win .

And without his meltdown, TB would have done the same for AB. The game moves so slow for him that he does that math all the time at this point of the season.

Didn't Gronk get a 500k bonus in the first half and another in the second half ? I thought that was what the commentators were saying but I wasn't paying that much attention at the time.

rfuerst911sc 01-10-2022 04:38 AM

Yep Gronk made one million in incentives yesterday , not a bad day's work 😁

TB went on a weekend jaunt with some buddies (to golf, I think) in the off season this summer. The buddies were wondering where he was at breakfast. When he finally showed up all sweaty they asked WTF were you?

He said he was training for the Super Bowl.

He’s a hyper focused individual. At some point he’ll hang up his cleats, I’m curious where he’ll apply his intensity next.

From what I’ve heard, he’s a regular Joe when he’s off the clock. Running errands with his kids. Picking up blocking pads at his son’s pee-wee practices, etc. but I’m sure he’s not able to shut down for long periods after all these years.

I think like with most things he will continue on until he stops liking it.

I started skiing when I was 3.

For about 10 years from my teens to early 20's if I only ski'd 100 days in a given year it was a slow year.

I was even one of the "pros" for a Red Cross Celebrity Ski Challenge one year back in the 80's.

Got to hang with Ed Baigley Jr, The Marlboro Man, Renko from Hill Street Blues, Barbara Eden and Shari Belafonte.

But at some point I started skiing less. If it wasn't a perfect day I just blew it off.

I wasn't really enjoying the travel and living out of a suitcase anymore.

One year I just stopped and didn't miss it.

Finally went skiing over the Christmas break for the 1st time in 18 years and had a blast so I'll be getting back into it.

But still, if I never ski again, it wouldn't bother me.

Now try skiing with 300#, very fast linemen trying to knock you off.

Actually, the one and only time I was taken off a mountain in a stretcher was heading from the lift to the starting gate for a race in Steamboat.

Pulled off to the side of the run to adjust something, my buddy who is about 6'4" and was easily 280 was skiing the side. He didn't see me till the last second. He tried to avoid me and clipped me on the side. Spun me right out of my skis. Ended up 100 ft farther down the slope with a concussion.

I don't remember too much from that weekend.

Crowbob 01-10-2022 11:10 AM

I'm pretty sure I'll never be carried off a mountain in a stretcher for doing something on purpose. So you think skiing would be not for me?

Crowbob 01-10-2022 11:12 AM

All's it would take is for TB not to see that lineman. The man has eyes in the back of his head, it seems like.

When TB decides to call it quits...I can see him taking a job as a commenter for NFL tv. (ala Romo)
I don't think he would ever join a team as a coach.

I don’t see that job having the intensity I assume he thrives on.

stevej37 01-10-2022 11:39 AM

Giselle may have something to say about it also.:)

I think being a commentator would frustrate him.

Coaching I could see him doing.

stevej37 01-10-2022 11:52 AM

^^^ A few years ago, I thought the same.
But now..I don't think he would take that on because he is always looking for perfection....which he won't get.
