I haven't in a long time, but I used to. Trim your big toe's toe nail more frequently. I suspect that'll help.

Yes...I do because both feet have a big toe bunion.
If I wear extra wide shoes...not so much wear.

Another good point. I like/wear shoes that have a roomy toe-box.

Mine wear out in the heel. I remember when I was a kid my dad would darn the heel of his socks when he would get a hole in them. Now when I get a hole in my sock I just throw it away.

I get holes in my heels too after 2 years or so. Then they get thrown away. Was asking originally as gets holes in toes (he says he clips nails) and I thought of a vinyl tape dispenser which would allow you to quickly dispense a 3/4 (or whatever) strip of tape off a wheel and put over the edge of the nail. 3M has an outdoor painting tape that would be perfect.

This. I only get holes in the bottom of the socks at heels after the wear thin. I work from home, and wear no shoes, just socks all day. Well, OK I wear clothes as well but shorts and t-shirt is getting dressed up to go to work.

I used to get holes in the ball of the foot when I was running. (I suppose there is a technical name for that part of the anatomy.)
Since Uncle Arthur came to visit and decided to stay I don't walk, let alone run, enough to wear out socks.

Really no discomfort from them...as long as I wear the right shoes.
Put an end to my downhill skiing in my 30's...the boots have no give in that area.
