Update: Apparently, these were not Porsche owners nor part of an official PCA drive. This was a local dealer who took out prospective/future Porsche owners out for a drive and they got caught for pushing the speed limit.

Whoops !

The guys pulled over handled this all wrong. They should have pulled over and immediately all got out and stood in a circle.

In Canada, the charge is against the driver and the officer has to ticket the guy driving. There is no possible way that he could have kept track on the side of the road who was driving what car (I am aware of dash cams).

If you have ever disputed a ticket, you will know that the police always do ‘roll call’ before court starts. This is not roll call to see who is there, this is so that he can identify you because the ‘crown’ must be able to identify the accused in court. I hired a traffic ticket guy to get me out of a ticket one time. He instructed me to sit outside the courtroom and read a book. The cop was unable to identify me as the accused and I walked.

A friend who is a retired cop told me that a similar thing happened to him once and he couldn’t identify the driver.

Yeah, this is a highly trafficked section of road compounded by large wildlife (elk, deer, bighorn sheep) and often boulders.

But the biggest deal is the head-on accidents. A lot here on the two lanes in recent memory. Hence the speed limit and enforcement level.

The image is probably a few miles down the road when the officer caught up and doesn’t represent the 40mph section.

I do not disbelieve in anything. I start from the premise that everything is true until proved false. Everything is possible.
