Mars tonight

Brightest I’ve seen the red planet in a while. Far enough from the moon to get a good view too.

Mars, the only known planet in the Universe inhabited entirely by robots.

Mars was really bright in the low Eastern sky this morning @ 4:30...it was so clear at my place in the country, you could easily see the MilkyWay, and multiple bright stars as well. Going to be a full moon next week.

One of my friends in Oz has been imaging Mars this year. No dust storms so the surface features are vivid and his pics rival some of the pro images from NASA JPL.

Wow. Some of those pics are beautiful. I can't imagine the turbulence.

I wish my observatory was setup for this. Just got moved into the new house so it's on the project list.

Congrats! I think the last we heard was that you didn't get the one, but actually were looking at another that was going to be even darker.

The weekend place in the country that we're currently in the process to purchase is in skies that should be ~Bortle 4 according to the dark sky map, which is great since I've always previously been in Bortle 8 or 9 locations.
