				2020 Census

Just heard on the radio that today is the last day to register for the Census. I just completed it online and took 3 minutes. 2020 Census

Kind of late, aren't you? I think I completed it online months ago when we got the mail. So either you're a horribly procrastinating slacker... or you've been busy with a slew of other projects that are a much higher priority for you. I'm pretty sure we all know which is the real Shaun

In just under the wire at 6:27PM. Thanks Shaun. I got the mailings. I did keep them thinking I really ought to do this. Early voting is in play now. Hope I do better with that.

I got the mailing months ago and it sat and sat and sat on my desk. Feel good about being counted.

From this point on the Census Bureau will be cross checking names and addresses and making phone calls to get the required info. Some will be missed. | ||

Same here. If I get a personal bill, I go and setup the bill pay my credit union does for free. Companies are just a bank transfer, for individuals my credit union will print, and mail a check for no cost to me, except the payment. For my business, I make sure to enter it into the bills and I usually print a check and just pay it. I like all of our vendors to know we are a prompt pay company. I know that we have a few clients that send a payment within 10 days of sending any invoice. When they call and ask can we get... we just say of course! And they go to the front of the line. Fast pay makes fast friends in the business world.

On the flyer, once opened, was the code number that allowed easy access into the online system last night. As for why did I wait?

I got mine last winter...promptly did it online. ...then proceeded to receive at least 5 more of them, and a visit from a census taker. Ridiculous.

They've heard about your old Stewardess & Champagne parties and wanted to see the man, the myth, the legend in person.

I remember the last census in 2010, my Dad at age 90 was so aggravated with the "What is your Race" question. He put off completing it and sending it back due to that one question. He brought up his aggravation with the question one day to me, and I told him if it bothered him that much, then give them a simple answer: Human. He chuckled and that's exactly how he answered the question and sent it in. He later got a visit. It was a short visit as they quickly learned his true "Race"! This census, apparently just choosing "White" wasn't good enough. English and German were some of the choices..... I damn near answered it with "European American". I have a former co-worker that is (now) a US citizen. Whenever he filled out forms here in the states they always have sections about race/country of origin. He would receive puzzled looks when he marked "Aftican-American". He is a 4th generation south-African. He would be told he can't be African-American because he's not black. He would reply "Then why doesn't the form ask my skin color?" "That would be racist..." Uh huh.
