Fake Unemployment Claims?
Any other states seeing a lot of fake unemployment claims? KS has had a bunch including a number of people I know and one claim against my father in law’s business.

Someone here locally received information that they had applied for unemployment. They had not. And there was a change of address being processed. It took a while to fix AND some payments went out.

I know one friend that had several unemployment claims filed by people he has never heard of. He spent the time and effort to fight them all as they were all 100% bogus.

Curious how much this is also influencing the unemployment numbers as a whole as well.

This ramped up back in Mar/Apr. My son tried to apply, but someone had already applied as him. The TEC had denied his claim, but he had to jump through a bunch of hoops to be able to apply.

It's amazing the ingenuity that lazy people come up with when there is a chance to cheat the system. If only they would use their powers for good, rather than evil !

This is a massive problem in California. Some rapper did a song about all the unemployment dough he was getting, over a million bucks, then they busted him because of the song and video. How many got the money but did not make a video bragging about it?

I wonder if this explains why out of the blue yesterday I received an email purportedly from Wells Fargo mentioning something about my account( which I don't have). It may just be a regular phishing message though.
