Mrs. LWJ and I enjoyed a glass of red and filled out ballots on our kitchen table. Then, I mailed them.

I voted today. Got there 15 minutes after the poll opened. It took about 40 minutes to get to vote.
As I was thinking about this FIRST WORLD PROBLEM of waiting 40 minutes it dawned on me: I used to go to 6 Flags Amusement Park and stand in line 20-40 minutes just to ride a 60 second ride. Then, go to the next ride and wait 30 more minutes. Then go to the next one... I decided it wasn't so bad to wait.

I had a ballot mailed to my home. Spent allot of time of voting for judges. Mailed it and got a confirmation.

I stood in line for almost 8 hours in 2008. This time was a lot easier. It was a bit of an emotional experience for both MrsWD and I. It's the ultimate expression of being a US citizen - better than singing the national anthem, which always kind of chokes me up.
Update: I check the board of elections web site and our ballots were received and accepted to be counted the day we dropped them off.

My wife and FIL voted together last week. It took about 3.5 hours, getting there about 20 minutes before opening.

Suburban Chicago, Schaumburg, Took about an hour total after we arrived 15 minutes before the polls opened. Thought we would get a break since Mrs. Mike was in a wheelchair due to a serious leg break, but no such luck. The line was much shorter when we left. For the most part, it appeared to be retired snowballs like me.
Hey, and even though it's Crook County, I only got to vote once ![]()

I voted Tuesday morning. My county elections office is 1 block away, and every morning for the past 2 weeks the number of cars and length of the line previously had been too long.
It was very pleasant, so much so, I'm contemplating doing it again and again.

G'day!
|
I voted by mail and it went out yesterday.
Let my mail carrier take it from my mailbox so didn't even have to leave the property! ![]()
