Torched Singer 911 From Private Residence Fire

Sources state that the listing on Copart's site below is this reimagined Singer here. You can clearly see a number of notable Singer touches from the photos. This one is among an actual 1969 911T, a 1973 Targa, and a 1989 Targa, that all seemed to have met the same fate. Sources also stated that their labels are incorrect on them, but you can get the idea from it below.

Very sadly, an incident at a private residence resulted in a fire that spread to and destroyed a number of cars, including this Porsche 911 restored by Singer," a representative for Singer Vehicle Design told Road & Track. "Our sympathies are with the owner, who is understandably devastated and wishes to remain anonymous. As always we respect the privacy of our customers and will not be commenting any further.

That sort of heat renders any structural part as questionable. I wouldn’t re-use a single bolt from that car.

I agree. It does look like an engine fire that almost fully engulfed the car rather than a garage fire that burned around the car. Maybe the wheels or exhaust or something in the trunk can be salvaged. But realistically the whole thing should go to the crusher.

The metal roof looks untouched..which indicates the heat source was from below. A fuel leak or spill probably.

They should be using a fire-resistant ceramic or silicone dioxide additive to their Carbon Fiber primer. This probably needs to be a thing.

Singer makes some nice complimentary modifications, unlike the Model-T bucket dragsters fad. Just IMO of course.
A sad loss for all. Owner and spectator alike.

Do you think the Singer started burning, spreading to the garage and then the house. That would be interesting.

I do think it was an engine fire but I don’t think it was inside when it burned. The fire is most intense in the engine compartment, indicating the place of origin. The interior is burned too, but only from the inside and not the roof. If it did burn inside a wood framed structure it should have started a secondary fire that burned the outside of the car too. I don’t see any signs of flame on the roof of the car. Even if it burned inside a masonry garage where there was no secondary fire I’d expect to see some smoke or fire damage on the exterior and more uniform damage to the front.

But a car fire in a garage that starts a structure fire, that’s a claim that you can really sink your teeth into.

There were multiple cars involved in this fire, including a Ferrari, Aston Martin and several other Porsches. Don't think it was an engine compartment fire on the Singer... .

That is why we all pay for insurance. Or at least I do, if you don't you are your own insurance company.

The rims are not melted, so not that hot of a fire, there will be some good parts left.
