Worst Flu-Vaccine injection EVER!

Last Wednesday I had my flu shot. I had to wait 3 weeks after my last Covid injection.

The Covid injections went great. No issues. hurt maybe 1/2 day.

The day after my Flu shot, I see all sorts of subdermal blood. Over the next several days, it blossomed into a huge looking bruise. No pain, but huge. I'm 6 days in and it is finally turning yellow/being absorbed.

I've never had a shot, and I've had plenty of vaccines for international travel/living, that gave me bruising, etc.

No pics, to protect the guilty...

Probably hit a little vein or something.

Subdermal is what you mean. Subdural is more what you see if someone hits you in the head with a telephone pole or something.

I just had my 'enhanced flu shot for the elderly' today at noon.
It's supposed to be more effective than the reg flu shot....it was free.
I went in wanting that and a shingles shot. I changed my mind after they told me the shingles shot would cost $270 for each of two shots.

I just now noticed my arm is very tender.

Wife and I got our flu shots at WalMart a couple of weeks ago. No problems.

My son and I had one of the best experiences this year. Took him in for his 6 year check up and they asked about flu shots and I said yes, both of us want it.

The PA who gave them to us was like a magician. She tapped my arm, grabbed at it, squeezed, gently pinched, almost to the point that I was wondering what was going on, then one large pinch and she said "all done" Didn't feel a thing...amazing. I liken it to those professional magicians who grab at your arm so much you dont notice them taking your watch off.

My son was so worried but she did the same thing to him and he had a confused, "whats going on" look and before he could cry, it was over and he still looked confused. Best shot experience ever.

My dentist does something similar when giving novocaine, a firm grandma like pinch of your cheek as he’s doing it and it’s over before you realize what was up.

I'm surprised that the flu shot really didn't effect me right away, no pain, swelling, or bruise, but within a week, I had a pretty nasty upper respiratory infection that has lingered for 2 weeks now.

I'm trying not to cough around other people, thinking they will suspect COVID !

You might want to look at what shingles can do to you, and start saving or check with your insurance company about that shingles vaccine.
It’s an awful sickness

^^^ I'm going to try to call later on to find out if there was a mistake.

I got less than 2 hrs sleep last night. Terrible thigh leg cramps in both legs and now a splitting headache just over my left ear...same side as the flu shot. Tylenol Extra is not working yet.

I have had shingles across my stomach, and chest before, but sucked it up, and continued to work...no one had any clue I was suffering.

If you are suggesting that someone forego the vaccine and take the disease, you need to use that money you saved and buy a clue.

You are immune now, right ?
Wrong

Everyone has a different experience, and you are lucky.

Just off the phone with Priority Health. They said the pharmacy goofed. They read the medicare card instead of Priority card to look for drug coverage.

The total for both shots will be $169.
I'm glad I called because she told me that the second shot will fall in 2021...so that makes the total about $100 more. If I wait till after Jan 1...the $169 is good. (which I will)

Had my medicare for over 2 years....first time I've used it.

The advice I received and followed was to wait longer than shorter for that 2 Nd shot.
The shingles shot will leave your arm sore for a day or two

The needles are so good that they don't have to 'toss' them at your arm. They can now gently push it in and you don't feel it if they grab your arm.

having given hundreds of shot's..
and being terrified to get them..
that is how you do it...
feel the pinch..not the shot..

I think the pharmacist that gave it hit bone. 7 days and the "bruise" is fading...

We went last week to get our flu shots. Since we are geezers we got the extra strength version and they were free. I had only the slightest soreness, and really did not think about it again until my wife asked if I was sore. I would rate it a 0.5 on the 1 to 10 scale of pain.

We both have had the single dose shingles shot a few years back. Now the two part ones are out. We did the first of the two shots a couple of months ago. It was a 1.5 or 2 on the discomfort scale and my arm was sore for a week. We are due for the second of the two next month.

My mom had the shingles and said it was way worse then childbirth. I really don't want to find out.

I'm a T1 diabetic so very used to self injection multiple times per day. Those are easy shots though, very small needle. My flu shot was easy this year. I've had the shingles series. The first shot made my arm quite sore for a few days and I felt like I had a light flu for a day or so after. The second one didn't cause those symptoms.
