I took allergy shots for 20 years. After the 1st year they let my wife do them. Twice per week, for 20 years. They worked magic and my allergies are at 5% of what they were.

I used to donate blood regularly and am close to 6 gallons total. They had one donation that tested positive for Chagas disease, but they did a second test and it was negative. Even so, they will not accept my blood now. There has never been a case of Chagas disease in Oklahoma where it was caught in Oklahoma. I had a doctor doing a research project and I was tested three times, by the CDC and all test were negative. I don't have it, but that one false positive stopped me from ever donating blood again. It is their loss.

I have had lots of needles poked into me. It is no big deal.

My flu shot yesterday was the xtra strength one also. I hardly even felt the needle, but 10 hrs later it got really tender.
I'm used to giving myself shots also. When I broke my femur two years ago in a bike accident...they sent me home with a months supply of blood clot shots that I had to give myself in the stomach, twice a day.
It helps to have a little roll of extra fat on the belly for those.

She tapped my arm, grabbed at it, squeezed, gently pinched, almost to the point that I was wondering what was going on, then one large pinch and she said "all done" Didn't feel a thing...amazing. I liken it to those professional magicians who grab at your arm so much you dont notice them taking your watch off.

My son was so worried but she did the same thing to him and he had a confused, "whats going on" look and before he could cry, it was over and he still looked confused. Best shot experience ever.
My dad was in the military, and we travelled internationally. I've had a bunch of shots. I think it's a crap shoot. Most of the time you don't feel anything or much, but every once in a while, I think they hit a nerve directly. Fortunately, even then, it usually doesn't hurt that much other than the initial shock (unless you're a kid).

My dad filled up two shot record books. He traveled to just about ever non communist country except Australia. He was on the runway about to power up the engines for takeoff and the Australia mission was canceled.

He traveled all over Europe, South America and Africa and most of the islands of the Pacific and Asia.

He had a lot of shots from the flight surgeon.

I'm no good with needles. A few weeks ago my son and I went to get flu shots. For whatever reason, when the pharmacist breaks out the needle to give my son the shot, my eyes lock on and I'm like a deer in headlights. I can't look away! I about passed out . I couldn't believe how long the needle was.

I went in wanting that and a shingles shot. I changed my mind after they told me the shingles shot would cost $270 for each of two shots.

I just now noticed my arm is very tender.
I went to rite aid for a shingles shot. Free but won’t have more for a month.
Went to the acme pharmacy. In stock but $270 with my insurance. I had them double check.
Went to Walgreens. In stock and free. Got it done.

Found out that there is no set price for meds. Different pharmacies often charge different amounts with the same insurance. My wife is a nurse and looked at me like I was dumb for not knowing that.
