I'm guessing this is a supercharger housing. I cannot speak to brand, model or condition. Any value beyond the scrap steel?

Include some JB Weld so it can be glued to a hood, and post it in the for sale section of a Mustang forum

I always wondered what those GMC blowers that were on every dragster back in the day were originally for? Were they on big trucks or just always produced for race engines or (?)

I need that blower housing for a project I am doing to help a friend out. He is restoring a 70’s dragster that his dad sponsored back in the day (it was driven by my old neighbor who passed away last year). They have asked me to reverse engineer and build the Hilborn injection system for on top of a 671 blower. I need a 671 blower housing to pull dims off of.

They were the supercharges off Detroit Diesel 2 cycle diesel engines. GM began making these unique 2-cycle diesels in the late 1930s and they were used in just about anything that needed an engine, from yachts to farm tractors. They came in MANY sizes and configurations. The popular drag racing blower was from 6-71 engines (6 cylinders 71 cubic inch per cylinder).

There dozens of configurations. From a little 34 hp 2-53, to a 2400hp 16V149 (16 cylinders in a V, with 149 ci per cylinder). The in-line engine blocks were cast symmetrically, so the flywheel could be on either end and the blower could be on either side.

I have been asked to reverse engineer the NLA Holburn injection box on this dragster that is being restored.





I'm trying to reverse engineer the part between the scoop and the blower...
