Until then, I'll let you in on a little secret: Most respiratory viruses "come roaring back" during the colder months, regardless.
This has nothing to do with masks, and more to do with seasonal climatic changes (specifically the reduction in RH/AH).

I posted it for you to read Eric. Try to behave yourself and grow up.

I'm not inclined to violate their IP either, sooner

Pathogen origin/mutation tracing via molecular epidemiology is interesting, but it has nothing to do with the subject at hand (masks), nor the quoted junk articles that I was refuting.

Here is the title. Maybe that will help.

Maybe you can provide some citations to help us out with your claims.

Sorry, that only helps to reinforce my point (see above).

Here is the title of the article I was being critical of in my previous post (to which you responded to):

History Reminder: The 1918 Flu Came Roaring Back In January In San Francisco Because People Stopped Wearing Masks

Maybe that will help.

We all know about the newspaper article you don't like.

Well, as the self-proclaimed "only scientist" posting here, I am sure you can find historic/scientific data as to why there was a winter surge in the Spanish Flu.

Hint: It involved weather, nasty mutations, and a war.

I am asking about the basis for your claims.

Did you think it all up yourself? or did you read it somewhere - history.com maybe??

and please stop "arguing by name-calling" tho I appreciate your editing the other name calling personal attack

Webb as a scientist! Hahahaha. He’s a legend in his own mind does that count?

Also there are an abundance of pre-CV studies that document the limited effectiveness of anything sort of an N95 for a flu-like virus, the general public’s total lack of understanding of how to properly wear a mask, and the incredibly negative socioeconomic implications of widespread wearing of masks. But trust the science!

You mean, beyond 200-level health-sciences classes (and common sense)? Sure no prob. You first though. You made the bold claim of being the "only scientist" early on in this thread. So, I'll dig up some info to support my "claims" right after you post your bona-fides. A linkedIn page, your .edu pages/bio, any published papers, etc. should suffice.

Stating that you called yourself a "scientist" is name-calling? OK...

That’s what he does, make bold claims, doesn’t back it up, and when you question him he tries to turn it back on you to do the research.

you find that info on ResearchGate

I see you keep avoiding the question of any support for your claim.

OK, cool. What's your RG profile under? Have a link? Because there is no Don, Donald, or Randy Webb listed under Authors there that matches.

Also, what about that LinkedIn page? Your .edu pages? You've mentioned you've taught college classes in the past as well, so how about a professor/faculty bio?

I have a question. I live in LA/OC. I can tell you public mask wearing compliance has been essentially 100% for a few months now. I don’t think I’ve seen a single maskless person in an indoor public place (or outdoor gathering) in 2 months.
Yet just today the paper headlines said there’s a record surge of cases, increasing hospitalization etc.
Wouldn’t that indicate that cloth masks are of somewhat limited use (like Fauci originally said)?
Or, at least, they are not “as or more efficacious than a vaccine,” as Redfield from the CDC said?

Don’t get me wrong, I wish $2 cloth masks were the panacea that many hold them out to be, or believe them to be. That would be awesome.
It’s just that the real world results don’t seem to support it.

masks alone - esp. a single layer cloth mask - are not adequate; social distancing is needed too (and 6 ft. helps but may not be adequate)

that is not new:
https://www.healthaffairs.org/do/10.1377/hblog20200508.769108/full/

or maybe you should ask Eric - he is a genius in things he knows nothing about, not to mention an apparently low ability to search for scientists on ResearchGate

and note the pic Island posted - unlike "poditis" covid is spreading in part b/c you cannot look at someone and see if they are infected - nor does taking a forehead temp. solve things as many will be infected and infectious w/o a fever (but it helps)
