Fidelity is now pi$$ing me off...
I've been with them for decades, but have never used, needed, or desired an "advisor". Now, I've been recieving emails, calls, and voice mails, attempting to get me to join web seminars, etc. I know they'd love to "manage/advise" for a small % (still significant $ imo) and it's all unsolicited. Gimme a freakin' break

I've noticed thru the years w/ Fidelity that as I cross certain "thresholds" in dollar amounts, the offers of assistance come rolling in. In the early days, it was an email or regular mail. These days, a "personal advisor" will call. Flattering but not particularly useful.

I have to call Vanguard today. For some reason I have been locked out of my online account and it can't be resolved without a phone call.
I received a letter last week saying they are retiring it's old investment platform and I have to switch to the new platform and I could perform the simple task online by signing onto my account. |

The only reason I'm with Fidelity is because my former 401k was under them, and I used a "brokerage account" back then to really manage my own stuff... outside of the corp's 401k offerings. Then I rolled everything into an IRA many years ago. Vanguard would probably be my choice, even though I would not use their funds, etc.
For better or worse... I call my own shots now.... with few regrets .... damn Canadian POT stocks ![]() ACB (not the Justice) can kiss my butt .... I gambled and lost.... bigly ![]() Oh yeah.... I listened to Sammy once too.... his magic 8-ball sucked ![]() |

We have Fidelity and we’ve been assigned an advisor but we don’t pay any fees for the service. The advisor is free to us. It’s not clear that what they’re offering you will cost you more than the management fees already built into your account. Maybe you should check it out. If they do charge a fee you can always say no. If it doesn’t cost extra you’re missing out on a free service. You won’t know unless you check it out.

^^^^ Thank you. Fidelity doesn't earn a cent on my account, hasn't for years, and even back then was a trivial amt. per trade. This has been going on for a few months now. I'm just not interested in "whatever" it is they are offering and it has become annoying. I'm tempted to return the call on my next voicemail msg. but it's someone "leaving a msg for someone else" .... obviously low on the totem pole. It has become unwanted spam....
This is after at least two decades with no interaction with an advisor, etc. of any sort. IMO, "they're" fishing and I'm just not biting ... go cast somewhere else. Methinks they're the one who phoned me at least 20 times last week (suspected spam call, but different local #) every afternoon hour, every day, until leaving a msg. then the calls stopped. I'll get over this... one way or another ![]() |

I've about had it with Fidelity. I've only been with them for a couple of years. Our agent is my wife's friend. In one of the greatest bull markets ever, my account is only up about 3%. My Vanguard is up about 25% in the same period.

Write a Dear Abbey letter. Tell her you are being spammed, do not appreciate it and will move your assets elsewhere if it continues.
Someone will take care of it. |

She's the head honcho - it's a family business
She worked her way up on the bond side. BTW, I dropped Vanguard after repeated problems - never could get a competent person to fix the problems over a multi-year span. I've had problems at Fidelity but they get fixed. |

Moved my money from them over 15 years ago. Their service is terrible. The companies I deal with actually answer the phone and are not from some foreign nation and speak clear English.

I’ve been with Janus for 3 decades. Great customer service. No marketing services and good returns.

I've had nothing but good experiences with Fidelity, and anyone that I've dealt with on the phone has been clearly here in the US. They helped with the transfer of the 403(b) plan that I inherited from my mom into an IRA, and with the transfer of my wife's inherited portfolio held at another brokerage house and various compushare accounts.
Every so often I'll get a phone call from a rep at the office where we opened the accounts, or an email from her, but not bothersome. I'm very happy with them, and their funds have made me some good $$$. Just a satisfied customer...YMMV.
