Just a positive plug for Milgard windows.
Had all the windows in my old house (just sold it) replaced with their windows. The installers did a bad job putting them in and eventually 13 of them failed. Did the on-line service request (with Milgard) and called them after a couple of weeks of not hearing anything. They had all my info in the system and asked for a number off one of the windows to verify everything. Then I was told the windows would be installed a few weeks later. No charge, fully covered under warranty. No fuss at all, no questions asked. True to their word, they showed up on the day they said they would and swapped all the windows. Mind you I paid a company to swap the original single pane wooden windows, so I don't know if the warranty is any different for buying them from HD, Lowes, etc and installing them yourself. Would check with Milgard. |

Well, here we are a month later and the job is about 85% done! The biggest hold up is the two windows that haven't come yet. Supposed to be here in 2 weeks. One was sized wrong and the other has a damaged spot that looks pretty bad. On the plus side, the sun room walls are done and the marble window sills are in place. I still have to take up the sun room floor tiles (a heat gun is your friend) and get the floor ready for ceramic tiles that look like stone and paint the outside deck and steps. The project manager has done a really good job and is about as frustrated with the delays as I am! More to come.
