FYI, click "Share", then "Embed" and copy the text. Paste the text here and the video will appear.

This activity is pointless if no one dies.

Fantastic... but how long before sports like this are gone forever? Enjoy it while it lasts.

It would have been better if the US team had won but they did kick some Polish butt

Reminds me of this (From The King, Netflix) https://youtu.be/9GvLKjZbxCQ

It will never go away when groups like the SCA exist.

I used to sit next to a guy at work that was/is heavily involved in this. Full suit of armor made of titanium and everything to go along with it including custom swords, shields, under garments etc.

He's narating this vid:

I have a friend who is a member of a local medieval group. They dress up and have lots of fun on weekends (sleeping in realistic tents, cooking with period utensils etc.) but I had no idea fighting in full suits of armour was a thing. Those guys were going for it. Full contact blows!

They must have serious padding and protection under their armour/outer clothes.

Imagine trying to find an insurance company that would cover this event? lol

Those SOBs are big guys. Maybe even fat? I wonder if the real knights were a bunch of malnutritioned medieval men paid to kill? I bet they weren't that big and scrawny?

There are people who earn a good living making Medieval Clothes and Armour.

There's a guy in the UK that makes authentic Medieval arrows. As far as I know this is his only source of income.

Here's his Faceplant page. https://www.facebook.com/medievalarrows
