Most days, just socks. I only put on shoes to go outside.

But normally left foot first, sock, then right sock, left foot first shoe then right shoe. If I try I can do right foot first but it just feels weird. I did not even notice that until a few years ago when I had my hip replacement.

Sock shoe sock shoe is not recommended.

For a brief moment in time everything would be out of balance, and the excess weight on one side might throw you into an unrecoverable spin.

Why risk it?

Who keeps their socks and shoes in the same place?
And do you mend them?

What if I'm half-way through the sock-shoe-sock-shoe process and suddenly lose all motivation?

It depends. It's probably mostly sock, shoe, sock, shoe, but sometimes it might be sock, sock, shoe, shoe. I also mostly start on the right foot, but if I get started on the left foot, that's fine too.
