And I wanted one of these bad and got one for my 8th birthday, a Mattel "Strange Change Time Machine".

You essentially heated plastic dinosaurs and put them in a screw compressor that turned them into a plastic block. Then you placed them in the heating chaber and they sprung back to original form.

It was fun for about 2 minutes and I burned the crap out of my hands a bunch of times. I should have asked for one of those hockey games with the sliding/ twisting rods.

I can see how one of those cordless ratchets might be good, depending on how much torque it has and what you are working on. My air impact ratchet is probably my least used tool but I don't work in a shop setting for a living...pro mechanics use them a lot. Time savers.

I wouldn't buy Milwaukee cordless anything after purchasing the M12 drill/driver kit. I thought it was going to be the best Father's Day gift from me to myself ever.

BTW, M12 is enough for almost any job.

They work great if you're in a tough position where you can only move the ratchet handle a few degrees at a time. With battery powered, place the socket on nut or bolt and press the trigger. You can literally remove a succession of nuts or bolts while drinking a beer at the same time. Not enough torque to break them loose though.

Oddly, that is one of the things my uncle sold that he regrets selling. His was blue, with a white top.

Every single car I’ve ever owned to some extent. Some a lot more than others but NONE of them hold much excitement after a while and just become a chore and an expense... a big reason that (1) I won’t ever take on a car payment (pay cash or don’t buy it) and (2) have more or less stopped caring about them. No I don’t want a total appliance-mobile (it should make the task of driving at least a little bit fun) but I’m not going to go out and drop crazy money on an F-car or Lamborghini or even a high-end P-car... I just don’t see the logic of it anymore. Another boyhood dream dead I guess...

Desperately wanted one. Found one that I could afford. Bought it against the advice of my dad, who got to see it run in the light of day. I'd only seen it run at night.
Big mistake not listening to Dad when he called me at work from the bank where he was getting the funds squared away with the owner. He said it smoked. Like a destroyer laying down a smoke screen.
He was soooooooo right. I almost wish he'd forbidden me from buying it, but he taught me a valuable lesson that day. Your decision, live with it.
The pistons fell to the ground when I removed the rod caps, THAT'S how bad it was. It was over a year before I could pay for all the machine work and rebuilding costs to get it on the road again.

More recently it was a Tech Art Adapter for my Sony cameras. It's been on my camera once. Left it on the camera overnite and it killed the battery deader than a door nail. Haven't used it since, mint in the box.

I am a little surprised by that to be honest. I've owned a 4 post list, 2x scissor lifts and found the quick jack to be the best for me, with no cross members in the way or need for ugly ramps. I guess it's 100% dependant on situation. For me the QJ fits under the car between the wheels - totally invisibly - and even a lowered 911 can drive over it, no ramps needed... I can set it up in about 2 minutes (retrieve ramps from under the car with the supplied grab tool, position blocks, next side, boom). Best thing i've bought all year ! Go figure. Note that I am debating your opinion, I'm sure it's valid for your case - just goes to show you it's all about a solution to a specific need...

My controversial one: a 993. Hear me out before you throw heavy objects. *Prettiest 911 ever made*, but coming from a 911SC and costing me way more, I was let down by the return on my expenditure as it was basically identical inside, just a little faster with better AC. I felt like I was still in an old car, the smoothness of the engine was hiding its extra power. I loved looking at it, not so much being in it, it was softly sprung, too smooth, all the added doodads were a pain in the a$$ (immobilizer comes to mind) not what I expected at all. Ducking now ;-)

Wow, maybe you bought the wrong cars! Not counting my wife's cars, since 1974 I have had three cars total. I still own two of them. I have had my El Camino for 29 years and my 911 for 25. I still love them both and they are not for sale at any reasonable price.

How did you decide on a Kubota?

ZD 1211 with the 72 inch deck.

I drove a bunch of different mowers that friends of mine own and felt the Kubota was the best for my needs.

I learned a long time ago that trying to save money on equipment ends up costing you money.

I have two MF CG 2300 mowers (diesel, liquid cooled) I have owned for 17/18 years and they still run great, each with well over 2000 hours each. I took the 2300 with the front end loader out of the mowing rotation. That is where the Kubota came in. I mow 10 acres a week.

It is a wonder, as well engineered as anything mechanical I have ever owned.
