Add another to the list above: Isotta Fraschini (old Italian manufacturer) has built an LMH with help from Williams. Trying to get it accepted for 2023 Le Mans. Turbo V6 and 4WD with plans for road-going versions.

Ordered my ticket for the ROAR for Friday only, $15. Should include parking and garage access.

I've never been to The Roar. What is the general itinerary? Are there practice sessions throughout the day all weekend or what?

Its pretty much a standard race weekend with the Roar on Sunday being a race determining 24hr qualifying positions. Past few years Friday is pretty empty. I am expecting a lot more fans this year due to the hybrids.

I have attended many races at Sebring over the years I lived in Orlando . If you can do 36 hours straight at that track you have achieved greatness . The track is brutal and takes its toll on car and driver . I am looking forward to next year in IMSA and WEC and hope for great competitive racing .

That's what I was looking for, thanks. The website has almost no information, which is why I asked The 'schedule' lists only a Friday practice session right now.

^I also noted the lack of info. I ended up calling the ticket office. It was an efficient and pleasant experience.

Not bad - 4600 miles in 36 hours at a track that beats the crap out of cars

After 50 long years, the war resumes in just a few months: Porsche 963 vs Ferrari 499P.

yeah well, Its only a war if they can keep up and keep it running
Ferrari's thing has been 1 hour GP races, and even that hasn't been working out that well in the last 10 to 15 years

The average speed is higher then the Sebring winner in 2022

ALPINE ELF TEAM
NEGRÃO A. LAPIERRE N. VAXIVIERE M.
#36
Alpine A480 - Gibson Michelin
194 laps (Sebring is 3.74 miles= 725 miles) in 7:15:37.293 is 100 mph average

4600 miles is 1229 laps... in 36 hours is 127 mph average

Obviously that is not race traffic with slower cars on track, but clearly the car has plenty of speed and endurace to go the full race..

For the 30 minutes I was watching, it seemed like qualifying laps. They were on it very hard and I guess the times back that up. I really think the goal was to break the car.

Curt, the goal with testing is not to break the car but to put enough mileage on it to give enough confidence it won't break

All the breaking of parts will have been done beforehand back on the factory on various test rigs eg engine dyno, multi-axis suspension rigs, power train dyno, brake dyno, full chassis rigs etc etc

A 36hr test is 1.5x a 24hr race, many of the safety/reliability critical parts on the car will have been designed and stressed to 1.5x the track loads or race mileage

The whole car will be stripped down back at the factory with all the safety these parts fully inspected eg crack tested, X-ray, CT scan, ultra-sonically to check for damage or the start of damage

I'd imagine Porsche will be quietly pleased with how the test went

Understood, but I think the pace and choice of track was more a 'try to break the car' effort than a 'try to last 36 hours at a measured race pace' effort. Either way, I wonder if any other manufacturer will attempt something similar. Apparently, Ferrari has 12,000Km of testing total between 2 cars over 5-6 months. Cadillac could be doing lots of testing at GM's Milford proving grounds that nobody knows about. Daytona is coming quick.

Cadillac/CGR completes 24 hour test at Sebring . While that is 12 hours less than Porsche did it is still very impressive. Shaping up to be an exciting year in endurance and sprint racing .
