Oh, to be so green...in an electric SUV deemed to be a Mustang!! Joy to the planet and all that jazz.

You don't really thing the Mustang hard corps accept this car, do you?

I still don’t get it. I don’t see a single positive reason for them to call this thing a Mustang.

Call it a falcon, Torino, Maverick, Comet, anything but a Mustang...this is nothing more than identity signaling, and hoping to cash in on 56 years of model name success to the young crowd who has never owned one !

Remember when Oldsmobile was slapping the "Cutlass" badge on just about anything?
That move could work just as well for Ford.

Chevy Chase passed peak "watchability" sometime in the early 90's.

As for the car, looks slightly better than that dismal BMW 535 Gran Turismo thing.

That thing is as much a Mustang as my Cub Challenger 550 UTV is. The folks in charge of branding/naming... whatever, should have their ass kicked for calling that thing a Mustang.

If they were going to use an existing Ford name, it should have been given the Fusion name and the Fusion cars rebranded.

Geeze I may never watch Christmas Vacation or drive a Mustang ever again. and that thing is a Mustang? Looks' like the discontinued Honda Crossover thing from a half dozen years ago with out a grill. Why would they call it a Mustang? They could have made up a hundred of goofy electrical gizmo names.

Introducing the new Ford Megahertz, Jolt, Zap, Bzzzzt.

Someone at Ford must think that applying the Mustang label to this very-non-Mustang vehicle will help. Whatever, I guess.

As to using a Chevy to promote a vehicle bearing the most popular name in Ford's history ...

On the upside, now ANYONE can mow down pedestrians or have their own ticket to fame with an epic Cars n’ Coffee crash YouTube video with a “Mustang” - whether it really is or not!

Ha! I see what you did there!

Anyone know how much Ford is planning to charge for this car?

I love National Lampoon Christmas. On that basis, Ford got me to watch the commercial. Good marketing.

The car: ugly as sin. There is NOTHING that hearkens to the muscle car heritage of the past.

Best line in the commercial: "I used to have a Mustang back when cars made sounds".
Unfortunately that is the real message here: get over it, sports cars are now just faster appliances with (IMO) no soul. Even Ford is willing to admit it.
