I didn't think it was because he was embarrassed about losing, but that he was feeling weird about having to throw the game. Ken Jennings also seemed to choke on what should've been a no-brainer for him in Final Jeopardy to end his run.

Maybe ratings have something to do with it. When a contestant first begins a big-money run, I would imagine that the show's ratings go up. But after seeing that same contestant continue to crush the competition day after day, maybe people start to tune out and cause the ratings to slip. That's when the producers might ask them to step aside so the regular turnover of all three contestants can resume. Just a guess on my part...I still enjoy the show, no matter what.

The producers are VERY careful how they speak to the contestants. I've read several articles on how the show handles the questions and contestants. It has to do with the trouble the game show industry got into back in the '50's. If the contestant decides to take a fall you can bet its all their decision with no input from the show.

Anyone see yesterdays show?
Hamilton (I think that's his name) was looking scared to give the question.
He was smart...but just couldn't get over the stage-fright.

Every day. The last 3 champs have been impressive. I am getting used to Ken J.

JackDidley 12-22-2021 07:10 PM

Latest champ, Amy S. has 0ver $600k in about 15 games. She is not fun to watch like James H. but she knows almost everything. Crazy smart.

Last night she missed the final Jeopardy answer which I thought was pretty easy.

At one point last night the score was somethings like $12,000, $800, $200.

Amy is very knowledgeable in every category that they throw up there.
She is going to be tough to beat.

stevej37 12-27-2021 03:57 PM

She's up to $725K as of now.

'She' used to be a 'He'...not there's anything wrong with that of course. Smart as hell, regardless.

Did you see Jason Alexander (George on Seinfeld) on celebrity Jeopardy?
Smarter and quicker than anyone I’ve seen.

stevej37 01-03-2022 04:02 PM

Mayim is great. But no, it's been Ken Jennings for a while now.

I agree 100%. My wife loves her.

stevej37 01-03-2022 05:03 PM

Mayim has a way of keeping the contestants happy and relaxed. Very personable.
Ken is the opposite.
