^^^
A very tough clue for a female contestant.
I'm guessing Rhea had a background that helped her with a Greek answer.

Luckily for Mattea...Rhea hadn't built up her dollar amount. (Not enough to catch Mattea.)

A fun series to watch.

URY914 04-27-2022 03:57 PM

Won it by a buck.

stevej37 04-27-2022 03:58 PM

^^^ Yes!
Wow!....what a game.
Mattea pulls it out with a $1 win.

So many things to learn from this show.

Steve Carlton 04-27-2022 04:07 PM

Is that because she bet the max she could lose and still win the game in Final Jeopardy?

stevej37 04-27-2022 04:09 PM

She had to get the answer right...or lose.

Steve Carlton 04-27-2022 04:11 PM

So did she bet the minimum to win if she got it right, so she'd have the maximum left if she got it wrong?

stevej37 04-27-2022 04:15 PM

^^^ It didn't matter what she bid. If she got it right, she won. If wrong, she lost.
The other guys bid is what made it close.

I'm not sure I understand your question.

Steve Carlton 04-27-2022 04:22 PM

A lot of times the person with the most money bets just enough to win if the opponents bet everything and get the final question right. That way, if everybody misses the question, she has the most remaining cash. It depends on what the opponents bet. It would be extremely unlikely to win by $1 unless it was planned that way.

stevej37 04-27-2022 04:29 PM

Before the final jep question...the last question ended in the 2nd place guy with exactly half of her total....so he bet everything. (which was smart)

Steve Carlton 04-28-2022 03:39 PM

Did she bet $1 on the final question?

stevej37 04-28-2022 03:44 PM

Yes...I believe.
It was a very different ending than usual.

stevej37 04-28-2022 03:52 PM

Oh Oh Mattea has met her match.

stevej37 04-28-2022 03:57 PM

Great ending!

Finally had a bit of competition.:D

^^^ She seems to always come through when it's close.

How did she get that smart at that age?

That is amazing to know so much at 23. Not to mention that she is a Canadian that knows American life and history better than most Americans.

I’m at Road Atlanta this weekend. Someone post what happens on tonight’s show. Thx

stevej37 04-29-2022 04:00 PM

^^^
Mattea won. She was the only one with the correct answer in final Jeop.

Julian made it close for a while....his claim to fame was that he could sing the alphabet in reverse..which he did on the show. :)

URY914 04-30-2022 08:27 AM

Thx Steve. Her run continues

Reg 04-30-2022 04:24 PM

What if she had bet zero. Other guy wins , they tie. Both come back next day. She couldn’t lose - only tie. Why didn’t she do this the other day. If she was wrong she would have been out by a buck. Am I correct that she gambled when she could had a free tie?
