I don't doubt it.

Been working on retraining the brain since I posted this thread. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes before this becomes "normal". Being that I only put the belt on once per day, this could take a while.

Maybe you should practice. Take 15 mins each day and un-belt and re-belt 100 times.

As foreign as it feels, I'd be lucky to get that done 25 times in 15 minutes. Feels like it takes FOREVER to put my belt on in the morning since I've been going the other way around.

Traditionally (for pants with belts), men start on their left, women on the right (regardless if lefty or righty), the edge of the buckle lines up with the edge of the blouse. People who thought themselves "rebel" wore their buckles off to the side. One can also do that if they need to hold up their pants with one belt with a big buckle and wear a gun, ammo, or utility belt that fastens in front.

Most of how you start has to do with how fast you can get it off when needed. Kids these days are pretty fast a foot with their fancy shoes and all. When you are chasing them off the lawn, you have to be really quick to yank that belt off if you plan to get em.

Exactly. And I always assumed that women put on belt to match the shirt.

As a retired military man, I can tell you that the belt goes in from left. No exceptions. There is even a place in the regulation that explains which side the left over goes.

Ran across a new lieutenant once that had his belt on backwards. I told him it was wrong and that he needed to fix. He responded with 'but I'm lefthanded'.

This is very disturbing. Thread from the left? from the right? have I been doing it wrong all these years? I'm not sure what to do. My pants have been around my knees for 3 days

Forget the belt! Buy suspenders. But then you've got to worry about which shoulder you bring over first... It's all very confusing!

I'm thinking for the sake of ease I'll just have a piece or two of industrial velcro stitched to my skin. That way I can just stick the holster where I want to. I'm a problem solver!

Update: 4 months isn't long enough to retrain the brain OR there's the possibility that you truly can't teach an old dog new tricks! If I don't think about it, I'll start at the left and go around to the right. If I think about it I'll start on the right and go around to the left.

I was born a righty, my accident forced me to become a lefty. My brain did eventually rewire so that now when imagining a task in my mind I always see it as a lefty.

As for my belt, it depends on my mood.

The belt always feeds from left to right as that is where the shells eject.

I feed my belt through the left hip first. Watch on left. Hair departed years ago. Wallet goes in either rear pocket unless in a crowded area, then it goes in a front pocket. Belt holster on the right, shoulder holster on the left. Shoot either but prefer right hand since I am right eye dominant.
