I could only handle that narrators voice for about 30 seconds. Like nails on a blackboard or my ex wife....

Thanks for that!

That's an AWESOME dog! Baz would love this.

Personally I think the efforts to free the Ever Given so far have been pretty disingenuous (either that or riddled with incompetence), it’s one or the other.

The canal is blocked. Why not build a dam either side of that prune barge with sand bags (surely they have enough sand around there)? Fill in the section where the boat is to a higher water level, refloat it, then take down the dam...

This could have been complete by now (think of how quick sand bags come together every spring when rivers over flow their banks)...

You'd never make it in IT.

How many sand bags would it take to stop the flow of water on something like this? How many thousands of sand bags would they have to place and then remove?

Yup.....I also never call computer help desks...."thank you for that!"

I once returned four computers from HP because I couldn't understand anything they said.

LOTS but doable. No more than people use in any flood prone town every spring. I think you could dredge them out. To make things interesting use PVA bags this dissolve so you could for sure remove the dam with a dredge.

Today I learned it's possible to embed a twitter video. Thank you. SmileWavy

stevej37 03-28-2021 08:57 AM

^^^ someone (I forgot who) on here, told me how just last week.
I was making the mistake of trying to embed from the last post...instead of going to Twitter.

I like the idea of the good ole boys from Texas with pickup trucks and chains. Shipping company buys the beers afterwards, and call it a job well done.

Roughly 14 stories above the water line and 125,000 square feet to catch the 40 kt wind - that becomes one heckuva sail.

stevej37 03-28-2021 03:38 PM

For some reason...Twitter took the dog digging off. Might have been taken from Youtube.

I would really like to know the real specifics of this event. We'll see: Captain's Log, Suezdate 12125: All is well, slight breeze. The Egyptian Pilots really know their stuff...

I was reading an article that they have partially restored power, which will allow the bow-thrusters to work again.

The implication is that the ship must have lost power at some point.
