The new CC/debit have the 'touchless option'.
Same with phones. Easy for a pro thief to walk through a crowded place with a scanner and collect numbers as easy as that. Their accomplice starts shopping or wires transferring right away.

I bought some on amazon, bigger than those described above (I think) so I can stuff some sensitive electronics and my wallet in a side pouch of my laptop bag before shoving it thru the scanner....back when I used to fly- a lot.

Is the chicken named Faraday?
And to answer the OP. No, I don't use any tin foil hats, or Faraday bags. Oklahoma was one of the first users of the "Ez Pass" or as we call them a PikePass. It is just a sticker stuck right to the windshield. I guess if my car was towed on the turnpike it would get charged. If you ever see my car on a trailer, please call 911 and report a stolen 911.

Get the Apple Credit Card.
It has 3 different numbers associated with it. One is tied to the physical card and doesnt work without the card being inserted. Another is for card not present transactions but is not embedded in the physical card, you get to it from your management app in your digital wallet. The 3rd number is for Apple Pay.

I can barely get the damn thing to transmit when I slap it against the scanner at the register.
I can't imagine somebody walking by me getting anything of value over the air.

The are easy to get.
So easy my dogs trees come in an aluminum foil bag that actually come works (no I don't know why) Simple to test. Put cell phone in bag. Call cell phone FROM A DIFFERENT PHONE If the phone rings, fail. Word of warning. If you keep the phone in the bag, put the phone in airplane mode. If you don't, your battery life will be bad because, overly simplified, the phone will be saying. hello, can anybody hear me? Until you take it out of the bag.

My sister's house in San Diego, on top of the hill in Point Loma, but terrible reception inside. Chicken Wire reinforced stucco exterior. It must be grounded someplace. She should be good in case of nuclear war or Coronal Mass Ejection.

Non of my credit cards have any RFID chips. So if the card is not swiped or inserted into the card reader, they can't do anything. My cell phone in theory can be hacked as evidenced by the constant updates Apple put out for phone operating system. I am currently in iOS 14.4.2 and it was yet another security update installed yesterday. I figure I will keep my phone on the newest update there is, and not worry about it. My credit card company always makes it right when the thieves somehow get the number, likely from some web based business I use the card with.
