I like it, a lot. Looking forward to your updates as well.

Is the tow rating 7,650? A trailer for larger projects would be cool. And I bet it’d be fairly maneuverable.

Very cool... . But man, you do circulate vehicles.

drcoastline 05-16-2021 03:52 PM

Looks awesome, love the hood. Hope you have lots of trouble free fun.

I just wish they made them a little bigger.

unclebilly 05-16-2021 05:24 PM

Meh... if you own it long term (you usually don’t keep vehicles long), search out and read the dodge truck threads... expect Chrysler quality or worse.

unclebilly 05-16-2021 05:27 PM

Post up a pic with the roof off, windshield folded down, and the doors off...

MMiller 05-16-2021 05:49 PM

That is a beautiful color! I'm sure you and your family will enjoy. All of my Jeeps have been great fun with minimal issues.... let the mods begin ;)

Sooner or later 05-16-2021 05:52 PM

My only negative. Those orange toe hooks clash.

Maybe it will be long gone before the warranty expires. I wouldn't want a newer FCA vehicle. Ever.

It looks good, I hope its more than skin deep.

Sorry to be the downer here Matt, 99.9% of the time you have excellent taste in automobiles. I will log in here as the outlier saying that is no Jeep and is one ugly ride. Color is great but cannot make up the ugly. Sorry man!

Ditto.... Did someone take over the exquisite car enthusiast Matt's screen name? :D

You've been here long enough to know that answer!

Very cool, I love my rubicon

I think that they are cool. Without going back to your original thread about road testing various small trucks, how are the seats and the ride?

One nice thing about Jeep Wranglers is that the resale values are off the hook.

I have a messed up back so seats are a big deal for me. The seats in the Colorado ZR2 were terrible, my back hurt after a 10 minute test drive and my wife agreed. One big reason I chose the Gladiator was for the seats, they are unique to the model and more heavily bolstered. I had a three hour drive home and they were excellent. So thumbs up from me. The ride is fantastic by Jeep standards. The longer wheelbase of the Gladiator helps, and the Mojave has big bore Fox shocks with remote reservoirs that do a great job of smoothing out the bumps without being too soft. It’s still a Jeep with solid axles but it’s the smoothest and best riding Jeep I’ve experienced.

I’m 6’1”, I can adjust the front seat to my driver position and then sit behind myself in comfort. It has enough space for four adult men. Three kids or smaller women could sit across the back easily. It’s much more spacious than the Colorado. But if you need to haul NBA players in back like a 1/2 ton, it won’t do that.

It actually looks great in person, I was worried about that based on pictures.

American cars have come a long way, but they still have way too much hard plastic inside.

Our American car is soft touch everywhere you would touch something (other than the infotainment and stuff that shouldn't be soft) and it was only $20k new in 2014.

One that caught my eye over the weekend http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1621264750.jpg

A good portion of this forum has an understanding of cars that hasn’t been updated since 1985. I’ve driven multiple late model Tacoma’s that were mediocre in comparison to many domestic trucks. But at least they’re more expensive!

We've had 3 JK's (one two door and two different 4 doors). Really love the 4 doors (unlimited). We've had the current MW3 Unlimited Rubicon for about 4 years now. The resale is almost as high as the day we bought it (the MW3 version is weirdly sought after).

The gladiators weren't really my cup of tea (though in general, I really like the JL series). Steve really loves them. Then we saw one with a bigger wheel/tire setup and a minor lift. Crap - that was a visual game changer. 33's about minimum on these and 35's fit pretty nicely (minor lift). Now I want one too - LOL!

If they would just quit pussy-footing around and put a Hemi in 'em....

Matt, you are probably correct. Our minivan is even more plush, but it isn't actually a car like a sedan or coupe.

We also have a 2000 Durango SLT+ that is pretty soft everywhere inside, but after that they went all crappy plastic in them for the rest of that generation of truck. That truck now has 196k miles. Needs new front bushings and all the engine accessories have been replaced as well as the rear pinion seal but has been pretty trouble free. Only left us stranded when the non-oem tensioner pulley replacement broke. The OEM was making noise and was replaced as a precaution with Dayco parts from a store where dad worked at the time.

With the 392 available in the Wrangler I don't doubt they will be available in the Gladiator once sales slow a bit.

Yeah I’d say it’s inevitable.

So, another Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon for me today.

When I work from home I always do a "walk about", just to get out of the house, usually a quick drive or an errand.

So, I get to the end of my driveway, stop, look both ways even though it is really rural, and I see a Snazberry Gladiator zip by, going my way.

I follow it for about four miles through open fields and tree lined roads. It looks exactly like OWPs except it had a black convertible roof.

In the real world that color works, really works.

The Gladiator has grown on me.
