The Ram trucks with Delmonico Red are great in person as well.

rusnak 05-17-2021 11:33 AM

That is like, the total opposite color to grey shiny primer.

Like this one, for example.

That color (sting gray) and white were the other two on my list. Would have been happy with any of those.

Also for those keeping score my trucks tend to hang around a little longer. I think the score is 4 years, 3 years, and 2 years for my last three. Considering I bought this one new it will be here for a while because I’ll lose my ass in depreciation. Honestly at this point there’s no way I could sell it, my wife is in love with it.

red-beard 05-17-2021 02:40 PM

I really prefer the color you bought.

dmcummins 05-18-2021 02:26 AM

Crap, now I’m thinking about taking a look at one. I wonder what I would get for my 30,000 mile, 2017, wrangler unlimited.

dmcummins 05-18-2021 02:29 AM

What’s the difference between the Rubicon and Mojave?

I bet you would be shocked. The used market is crazy right now.

The Rubicon is more focused on rock crawling while the Mojave is more Jeep’s take on the Raptor high speed desert runner concept. The Rubicon has the electric disconnecting sway bars, locking front differential, smaller diameter Fox shocks without remote reservoirs, different springs and tuning. The Mojave gets the bigger bore remote reservoir shocks, rear differential lock that you can use at high speeds, frame and suspension reinforcements, a slightly higher ride height, a wider track, more heavily bolstered seats, and a different hood design. I think those are the high points.

But does it taste like snazberries!?

My brother and my son call those a "Treep"

Good lookin ride.

My BIL is into Hummers, and I am into Ford diesels, but I could easily see myself in a Gladiator in desert tan with 35" tires.

It will be interesting to see if you opinion changes when you still have it in 3 years and again in 5...

My bet is that you won’t still have it.

For the last couple of years, I have been astonished by what carvana.com, vroom.com, and shift.com will pay for cars. Not always, but often, and you never know which one will be offering the most and by a lot. What's the saying? Buy low, sell high? They make the sell high part easy. Buying low is still out there for new. I think right now things favor selling used and buying new.

History would tend to be on your side so we’ll see. Considering that this is Jeep #4 and my wife and I both enjoy them and have been wanting another, it’s got a shot to hang around for a while. I think we are going on three years with the E63, and that thing isn’t going anywhere! In fact it’s getting a resonator delete on Friday.

If anything I could see another addition to the stable, right now I have an empty spot on my lift that would look great with a sports car on it.

I joined the Gladiator Mojave club at the beginning of the year. I decided on Hydro Blue to go along with my TJ. Other than being underpowered I love the thing. The suspension is amazing and the aforementioned seats are very comfortable.

dmcummins 05-19-2021 02:38 AM

I like the looks more than need the off road capabilities. I wonder if it would make more sense buying a base model and just adding a few things. Lift, tires.

I considered that. But the basic Sport is very basic, like crank windows basic. Once you add a few creature comforts it’s within a few thousand of the Mojave. Then you start looking at aftermarket upgrades and pretty soon you’ve invested more into the Sport than just buying the Mojave. Just to add equivalent shocks is over $3k. That’s how the math worked for me at least, the Mojave was a better package for what I wanted.

ramonesfreak 05-19-2021 04:24 AM

I like it!

I just sold my 2017 Grand Cherokee Limited. Had it 70K miles and it was a great vehicle. No issues - except at 2 years old the leading edge of the hood developed paint bubbles due to corrosion. The hood is aluminum. The dealer got me a new factory hood under warranty without any issues at all. He told me "they all do that"......not sure if yours will be any better but keep an eye on it

otherwise, i was surprised at the overall excellent quality, just turns out i get bored driving a big heavy truck so i ditched it

911 Rod 05-19-2021 08:11 AM

Sharp truck.
What's with the tail lights? It's like they forgot and slapped them on at the last minute.

Plus the resale value will be much higher on the Mojave vs a modified Sport.

My buddy got a white one about a moth ago...for the reason someone else mentioned...other pick ups too ho-hum. This one was at a dealer in Scottsdale:
