Name this, and year

Hint it's from last century. The for sale sign reads "Runs.. No brakes"
I know from owning one of these, you hardly need brakes.

Yes, I was going to say Austin Cambridge. Quite a high end build for the time. Little did we know what crap they were.

My father was a car dealer in Northern England in the 1950's and early 60's. Sold Austin, Morris and Wolselsey. Actually some Austins were good and some not so. Amazing this Cambridge is still around.

Close enough 1958. Nice flyin' "A" on the bonnet. Not sure what that scoop is scooping.

They run an east coast trash/drugs/money laundering operation but are not above an occassional bump-and-rob...look at 'em, they all look guilty.

Those cars have lever arm shock absorbers as the top link in the independent front suspension. They wear out really quickly resulting in a very bouncy ride. You will need every one of the 51 bhp ( gross) to 'accelarate' that one ton car to 60 mph in a second under half a minute.Super slow by contemporary American standards but it would probably out corner any front engined US built sedan in its day( provided that its front shock absorbers were new)

As long as it wasn't in the workshop getting the soft metal valve seats rebuilt, or the needle refitted in the Solex carburettor

All it needs is some 21 inch wheels, slammed to the ground, all new 4 link suspension, and a 500 cubic inch turbocharged 750 HP engine, totally custom interior, 5,000 watt stereo, and it will be another TV show custom car. Oh maybe some custom pin striping, and a chicken on the hood.
